All THOSE comma’s you silly boy!
And I think £500 is s slight exaggeration.
But I think we should stop the grammar ■■■■ stuff. As it will become obsessive…
(Even though i started it )

Ask Garmin that, they will happily charge the earth for these things because they think they are something special

nope not traffic updates, they are [zb] in this country. Look at the link I originally posted this sat nav is amazing would highly recommend, you don’t have time for map reading all the time. Get in to the spirit of things be lazy, use a sat nav
I take it you have never actually used the TomTom Live traffic service? Far from being [zb], it is pretty ■■■■ good. You can see problems developing 30 miles or more up the road, and as the delays etc are updated every 2 minutes you can judge whether things are getting worse, better or simply remaining stable. With that information you can decide whether to go for an alternative or simply roll with it and sit in the queue.
I use mine just for the traffic service most of the time (I do the same 5 basic runs most weeks - so I know exactly where I’m going and how to get there).
Is that your foot I see in your mouth Ash?
Aponia has traffic too but I haven’t signed up for the traffic part so cannot comment on how good or not it performs, as for the Aponia app nobodysdriving I’d say that that is as good if not better than these two el cheapo crapo navs that these two are gushing about
I beg your pardon - Gushing?
I called my a bag of crap before I got it, and was impressed when it switched on.
So, if it does the job of guiding me from A to B without blowing up, i’ll be HIGHLY impressed.
I’ve said nothing about the features and haven’t made any comparisons…
So, get your facts right!

HAHAHAHAHA
thanks Reef, you always make me smile
I will keep Aponia for now as I will only drive about 3 days a month, when I up my driving hours I will invest on a ‘decent’ sat-nav but which one I don’t know yet…not sure if it’s going to be one of those that ‘these two are gushing about’ though

Did my first work in a class 2 yesterday. Was so stressed out as my sat nav haddent arrived so it sent me where I shouldn’t have gone a few times that and its been over a month since I’d last sat in one.Car drivers park in really stupid places. Nearly took an idiots wing mirror off getting into a construction site. They will have found them folded today as I folded them up before I exited (trying to make a point… Probably didn’t get through )
Got everything back in one piece though… On a 7.5 ton tomorrow
My dash cam works a dream… Even had the other drivers at the place drooling over it lol
I can’t work out what you’re saying there TrogFather. You don’t have the SatNav, or you do mate?
If not, perhaps it sent the postman to the wrong address! As for car drivers; what other purpose do you think they have on the road other to get in your way!
Glad you had fun in Class C, and that you’re loving your Dashcam. But keep it clean!
No it hadn’t arrived, I was just going round with my old car one. It came while I was out on Tuesday… Totaly different from any satnav I’ve used before but slowly making friends with it. Taking it out today so we’ll see how it does
I get it now Trog…
I’m a bit surprised you say it’s completely different, as I assumed there couldn’t be much difference in the interfaces of SatNav’s.
But as I’ve never owned one before, I don’t really know much about them…
I’ve always made done with a map until now!
Hope you get used to it…
What hours you working pal, as you seem to log on regularly at about 3-4am

Nope not my foot in my mouth, Just the cheap sat navs that have ■■■■ traffic updates then? I was told be the seller of my sat nav not to buy the traffic one they sell because it is ■■■■ in the uk. I assumed all were the same my mistake
I don’t know where the cheap units get their traffic info from, so cannot say whether they are good, bad or indifferent. Some earlier TomToms and some Garmin units use the free-to-air RDS-TMC system (which is also available in other European countries). RDS-TMC is very limited in the information it provides, but more importantly in the roads that it covers (or does not cover). Just like the “Sally Traffic” bulletins on the radio, there is little point in being told about 20 minute delays on the M6 if you don’t have similar information on all the alternative roads you might elect to use instead. RDS-TMC only covers Motorways and Trunk roads. TomTom’s Live service covers all the other A- and B- roads as well.

Good info Roymondo, thanks!
And I think that is what you’re paying for with £300+ SatNav’s. I didn’t buy my cheap unit with any of that in mind. Just getting from A to B. Also as I’m only class C, I’m probably not in the same game as class 1 regarding traffic reporting. But for a Newbie just starting out, who has already shelled out a lot to get a licence, having something to just get you started (and probably adequate for class C) Fourty quid is something I’m prepared to throw in the bin, or pass on when i really need something better.
i’d probably go and get the Nozatec one off ebay, don’t mind a second hand one for £25 !

HAHA pass on you make me laugh evil, you are making the assumption that it is going to last that long to pass on, and you are not going to throw the bloody thing out the window when it makes you hit a bridge
My £40 quid sat nav does me just fine and my trailers 16 foot, can’t fault the route planning onit!

ohh really, sweet mine will be put to the test properly next week when I am in a class 2 vehicle

You’ve probably got the same as mine then…
And to be honest, i hated, and still dislike the way it works. I just don’t think it’s logic for peoples thought processes. Or not my at least…
But my biggest issue, is that again today, it tried to send my under a 12 foot bridge, while it had a 12’ 4" truck set!
So either the bridge is not identified in the maps (unlikely) or, I’ve STILL not managed to set it to truck mode properly.
And I’ve set it to confirm truck setting for every route you do…
If I felt that this was sorted, I’m sure I could live with the rest knowing it was as cheap as chips and worth it’s money…

Yes there are indeed, but by the sounds of your sat nav, bridge is top of the list lmao.
