Will do… You’ll still have to contact him yourself for a log in but I’ll let you know when the update is up

great to know, thanks for the update mate
however, i will be returning mine back for a full refund as the support that i have got from them does not make me confident they know what they are doing
A basic knowledge of Google and copy/paste will get everything you want from these cheap satnavs, I was given mine by a very generous member here and after a few hours and a little trial and error I had a fully working unit with the latest software and maps. That said it does ■■■■ itself when you ask it to reroute you I’ll get that sorted when I can be bothered!
OK I have to ask what does [zb] mean? Pm me if it can’t be posted
[zb] normally swear words…
The auto-censor software identifies swear words etc and replaces them with [zb]. Knowing this, some users simply type [zb] in their message to indicate that they wanted to swear.
Indeed, I impolitely intimated that the machine in question defecates liberally when a detour is requested.
any new on the update ? I have still not heard from the seller himself?
You still having issues Ash… what’s occurring

No news yet. Going to message him now
Guys, why are you so keen to get the update? Is smth wrong with it? Have i missed smth?
No I’ve found it to be fine. To be honest I just wasn’t sure if it had the latest maps etc on it (you don’t know how long ago it was manufactured)
I’ve heard back from the seller. He’s given me a log in and said that it’s good for the length of the warranty. After that he said its £15 for a year (not unreasonable I don’t think).
As far as updates go he said your reliant on the map manufacturers. The last update was put out in September 2014 I think he said and that’s what’s on our satnavs, so they are sold up to date. I think they must usually put an update out every year, hence why he said come back in a couple of weeks (September). As yet the map makers are yet to send an update out.
Personally the only real reason I’d quite like an update is because of the new speed limits for trucks. I sometimes use my satnav as a guide if I forget or haven’t noticed what the speed limit is for the road I’m on. So when my satnav says 40 ATM I don’t know if the limit is 40 or the national speed limit. That and it affects your predicted ETA. To be honest that’s the only reason I’m after an update.
A note of cortion. I was daft and managed to damage the top left corner of my screen. Totaly my own falt, but the screen will damage without too much pressure being put on it. So be gentle with it and don’t try to squeeze it into anything tight. Or get a hard case and not just a sock
Trog mate, I’ve got my TomTom in a soft case to protect the screen, and the whole lot including the charger in a Walls 2l ice cream tup, perfect size & depth for the mount!
Trog rookie mistake, I have mine in a soft case and a screen protector on it, you are obviously too heavy handed. Also that’s all I want my update for is the speed as I am the same as you lol.
Well… I was trying to fit it all in a new (to me) scooter I just got for commuting. Lesson learned. At least it’s only on a small section and its still perfectly usable ow well, I feel like homer, DOUH!!
Ohh well ■■■■ happens, I bet the minute you did it you was like ■■■■! lol And mines still going strong although it did have an issue with signal for about 5 minutes the other day but nothing since.
for some reason iGo Teleatlas maps show a 7.5 ton limit at Dartford tunnel, so i will probably stick with iGo Navteq maps for the next runs

Is it defiantly saying it has a weight limit? You can set it to not send you down toll roads. It’s a long time since I’ve been in London but I think the Dartford tunnel/crossing is tolled. Might be worth checking the toll roads setting if you haven’t already.
