App updated to 4.0.5 on my Nexus 5 but still having major problems
App still crashes when you go to log or summary unless some break is recorded
More seriously, it will not record any driving time. I have it set so GPS enabled with the default fine tune settings. It wont change over automatically when I start to move. Also if I manually set it to driving, it reverts back to other work a short time later.
It also seems to be quite a battery drain, even when on daily break (i.e. still draining battery overnight whilst its set on break)
I do hope you can sort these issues, as I loved the app on my Galaxy S2, and it’s saved me getting infringements on more than one occasion!
The new version is 4.0.6 (not 4.0.5). This should be available now for all users – have you checked the store directly for updates, just in case the notification is a bit slow?
Now installed 4.0.6. No longer crashes when switching to log/summary but still doesn’t recognise movement.
GPS enabled and with default fine tune settings, it still won’t switch to driving mode when moving. If driving mode selected manually, it reverts back to other work. (It’s as if it’s not detecting or reading the gps)
If GPS is disabled, then can select driving mode manually and it will record the driving time until switched manually to another mode.
Can you check “Settings” → “Location”. It’s got a mode, with should be set to “High accuracy”.
This is new to Android 4.4 and I’m not checking that it’s set correctly in the app yet. If it’s in the low accuracy mode it can’t really measure speed changes at all.
Luke, what would be really handy if you could work it into a future app (I have no idea if you can). The ability to transfer your data from the app on your old phone to the app on your new phone. Can you do something like that please? Is it possible? It’s a bit of a pain when you lose it all

There’s already a way to do this, but it’s a little “hidden”. I’m trying to make it user friendly enough to reveal this functionality in the current version I’m working on.

Can I save the driving logs and summary without sending it via email? I’d like to be able to save them to my phone to view in a document viewer.
Sorry, missed this question.
On Android: the “Send” button should also bring up some options to save it to a file if you have a file manager installed.
On iPhone: If you plug into iTunes and look in the Documents directory for the app, you’ll find a TSV file.

Any news on an update to sort the “not changing to /from driving mode” on. 4.4.2 on Nexus 5?
Sorry mate – I just simply can’t reproduce the problem yet. I got a new car holder and have been driving around for a week and checking for bad behaviour – nada!
Have you seen any changes on 4.4.2 versus 4.4? Both seemed fine to me.
