Trucker Fashion

I’ve seen some ridiculous looking blokes who drive HGV’s, so tell me, what do you wear?

I’m a t-shirt and jeans man. Tatty hi-viz waistcoat and no hat unless they give me a hard one (ooer).

Black cargo work trousers (but don’t last long so trying black jeans next) brown boots (or was brown once) and black polo top supplied by work along with a beanie hat and baseball style cap ( said they might as well get me a hat as they will never see me without one on)

Trying to get a black fleece jacket from them to. And I got orange hi-viz vest and bomber jacket. Car transporter work so always pretty clean still by the end of the week.

Blue cargo work style pants blue polo shirt blue jacket have both yellow & orange hi viz they stay clean all week if need black steel toe cap boots

Mostly stays clean during week

Shorts and tee shirt :grimacing: flip flops  crocs, open container and back on bay. :sunglasses:

Eh? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

I used to look like a drowned coalman this weather by the time i’d worked me way along the bottom deck and cleaned approximately 5lbs of filthy road salt off the body with me smock or trousers whilst (un)strapping, then brushed alongside the ones on the upper decks trying not to fall off and soaking up the half a gallon of now salty dirty water beading on the doors, so how the hell do you stay clean on that job.

Sounds like you aint doing it properly Juddian

You don’t know the half of it and be very thankful you missed out…

The filthiest job in transport this weather, i’m sure you remember a nicely soaking wet and then frozen solid roped and sheeted load to undo, well thats about on a par.

I used to work with one bloke who could wear a white T shirt on the cars and never got mucky, he could tie the whole load on in about 3 mins but then he only strapped the one on the peak and the one on the back (minimally), the rest were ‘hopefuls’ :open_mouth:

I remember years ago, two of us sheeting up some filthy black rubber bales. The guy I was with was not known for his personal cleanliness.
We both finished, it was a really hot summers day, both of us were sweating cobs, stinking, and black as crows.
I got in the cab and started getting out some clean clothes to wear.

My mate says ‘‘What you doing’’
I said ‘‘Going for a shower’’

He said ‘‘Oh, I’ll just wait until I get home’’

I said ‘You won’t get home tonight’

He said ‘‘No, I mean on Friday’’

It was Monday ! :open_mouth:

Pair of Daisy Dukes and a boobtube is my Saturday run in clobber, smart company uniform during the week with steel toecap Lee Cooper boots and crotchless ■■■■■■■.

I’m reliably informed that due to overuse and no longer being funny the £10 thong joke with £8 worth up your arse is no longer acceptable on social media sites.

Oh dear don’t even get started on this. There’s no wonder us drivers are looked down on and treated as second class citizens when you see some of the tramps walking around a service area.

A scruffy t shirt, filthy flea ridden tracksuit bottoms and either boots or usually trainers that look like they’ve been walking through thick mud. Add to this the oily, minging hi viz vest and Bluetooth ear piece ■■■■■■ and blinding to their mate about every drop they’ve done in the last month and there you have it. Your stereotypical Hgv driver.

Wonder why he public hate us??

What’s wrong with jeans?..(…or trackies for that matter,)
as long as they are, and look, clean.?

Yep can’t beat driving in hi viz makes one look ready for action.

I like to have my hi viz waist coat underneath and my hi viz bomber jacket on top.

not for me, most drivers I see in jeans have half their arse hanging out. plus work cargo pants look so much smarter. the days of jeans and checked shirt have passed rob am afraid mate.

Not on the fridges they haven’t

I don’t know, in wintertime I do look resplendent in steeleys, jeans and a nice padded checked shirt. The lumberjack look also gets the ladies frothing at the bit akin to a horse eating oats.

Our lady members may agree.

I’m also quite turned on seeing a lady rocking the lumberjack look.

I’m just feeding the pony here hoping for someone to post the Monty python classic, ‘I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok.’

Nice one, if ever the supreme beings did a montage of my life’s best bits this would be the tune.
