Volvo are doing 12-month contract hire deals with 160kms mileage on 460 FH4s for £375 per week with full R&M at the moment, if I did replace my truck this year that would probably be what I went for.Who was doing that deal Harry??
Can’t remember, but was on a full-page ad in CM the week I posted that. From memory the company may have been in Ilkeston?

Think that’s “break” downs!!![emoji6]
Think if I was going O/D again I’d be willing to take the chance.
I don’t see too many Iveco parked on hardshoulders of M6/M40/M42/M5 or A1 past 3yrs!!![emoji6]
There not bad trucks especially if you keep one driver who looks after it on it as the trim is a bit fragile.
Other than throwing up random warning lights every so often they are a very reliable under rated truck.

@£299wk they’re the bargain of the decade too,
if you canny “get a turn” out of a brand new modern fuel efficient 460horse 44T truck your a ballbag!!![emoji6]

Yes, given the choice of £23,556 or a badge with a chicken sticking its tongue out on it, I know which I’d choose.

Am I frigging bonkers!!![emoji13]
I haven’t driven an IVECO since the Eurostar days but for £299 with full R&M for a brand new truck and a 140k mileage allowance, you can’t really go wrong. The fact that they don’t extend the R&M into the third year suggests to me that you might encounter increased repair bills then.
To be honest, I don’t think there’s such a thing as a “bad truck” any more, the cost of ownership is largely due to the badge. My Renault doesn’t have badge appeal, so it was cheap, but I have had no more problems with it in the four years I’ve owned it than I would with any other truck, and with 942,000 km on the clock it still earns its corn, day in, day out.

Its come to very sad state of affairs Harry for the industry when all that wrong with very good motors is the badge on the front .

I didn’t mean taking on an Iveco,
NO WAY in Gods good earth am I for turning down a 3yr deal like that!!!
(Speccing 480horse yoke 17.5midlift and 1250L tanks plus the higher spec drivers seat still expect quote under £350wk!!!)
I mean’ t am I
(plus ex Transport Manager mate/business partner who’s back driving truck past 8yrs but still has the “contacts”[emoji6] ) bonkers going O/D Ltd partnership again!!![emoji52]
As a way of earning with a fully costed truck on a 3 year lease at the end bin and repeat would be a good idea forget the badge look at the earnings. A driver will drive what they are given and a better pay rate could apply with taking the iveco over a more expensive truck

Exactly my thinking,
Which is why back in 04/08 I ran my Foden then Premium.[emoji6]
Myself/Partner will be driving the trucks for 1st year anyway so both of us are “fussy” drivers so Stralis will be looked after.[emoji41]
Need to get the figures worked out over next wee while and get another O licence/VAT/bank account set up etc.
