Why was he let go ?

Actrosman:
The work starts to slip out the door from March 2011. Hope all the 3663 lads have read and signed the memo about ‘driving to the law when on the road’ etc etc. Wouldn’t want a professional driver doing something stupid and illegal and ending up in seriously deep do-do would we? Oooopps…to late. Probably a job going at Harlow about now

Signed ours last week. Not parking illegally and if in doubt phone the depot for advice.

He had a days sick and a day where he couldnt get in because of the snow and a bump.
Ive had a day sick and a bump, which hasnt gone any further. You cant plan to be sick and they say it goes against you.

do you think they just used you over the xmas period■■?

Possibly, but they didnt say that and perhaps this is their way of getting rid of us. Making us think its permanent when its not.

Contract terminated due to unsatisfarctory performance…sickness and diahreah and an incident in the lorry which no further action was taken. Thing is, the transport manager must have known last thursday when he brought my review forward.

That’s harsh. And stupid from a company which struggles to retain drivers. What happened during this incident, much damage ?

As for the sickness and diarrhoea, that’s a tough one, Bosses never believe their staff are actually ill. I’m sure they think we’re all robots who just need lubricating and recharging from time to time.

You should’ve turned up and puked in the office

When sick it’s sometimes best to turn up, then it’s up to them if they send you home. If you’re crossing your legs and projectile vomiting out the window then you’re not driving the truck properly and they’d be morons to send you out in that condition. By staying at home you might as well have said you’re down the pub. It’s crappy but that’s the reality of sickness these days. Being ill costs money and money is more important than your health. You’re not alone either, a bloke who started the same day as me at my current job took 2 days off and came in to work still feeling bad and has said he has a black mark against his name and he might not be asked to go permanent if he has any more.

The bars underneath the lorry were bent, but they were fixed in the depot, but the damage to the barn that i allegedly hit was already there and there was no damage to the top of the lorry where i supposedly hit it.

As for the sickness, yes i could have gone in, but couldnt actually move from the loo!!

Its their loss at the end of the day, any company that watches their employees work for 60 hrs a week and only paye them for 48 is morally corrupt i think.

It’s a catch 22 isn’t it, you can’t get in but if you don’t they think you’re down the pub.

I take it you won’t be going on 3663s employee testimonials pages then

Definitely not…notice theres no drivers there.

Perhaps i could put

The hours are fantastic i get to work at 0430 and get home at 1630 and only get paid for 9 hrs. The transport manager is fantastic, not only is he 2 faced but hes got no spine either.

What’s the pay like. Unfortunately I may have to prostitute myself to a company like them just to get some experience.

The Pay is ok and the drivers and certain supervisors were great, but i get the feeling that they took us for mugs over christmas and let us go by telling us that we hadnt come up to scratch.

Im now looking for something else

how come you only got paid for 9 hours if you were there for 12■■?

the few days i done for them on agency, it was impossible to do the runs they give in 9 hours

They dont pay any overtime. I was contracted for 48 hrs a week, but more often than not worked 60, if not more.

thats a liberty, would they sort you out a few early days where you done less than 9 hours to make up for it■■?

i done a few days at swithenbanks in bradford, a 3663 company, and the runs i had were in leicester and coventry and birmingham, and had 10 jobs minimum, so they were impossible to do in 9 hours. i told the agency i didnt wanna go back there coz to handball a 18t load on your own is a joke, 2 man work i think.

hi natsdad,Sorry to hear your news i think its fair to say alot of people me included warned you what they were like BUT like myself 4 years ago when i passed my class c the likes of 3663,brakes and palmer and harvey do in fairness give newbies a chance, not bad pay in some cases and all good experience and remember when you start applying for new jobs you have that couple of months experience which will help you.
anyway good luck and keep us informed of your progress…chin up

What is the salary exactly. And do they get you to run bent with regards to hours worked etc.

I was on 431.35 before tax and the only way to get the drops done is to work while you are supposed to be on break.

thats good money if you were just doin a 9 hour day, but 12 hours a week for free would add up to a nice bit of overtime, even if it was flat rate, would be better than nothing. where were you working for 3663■■?

goodluck in gettin another job, hope you get lucky soon

And risk a fine or even your licence? i’d tell them to bugger off! yeah work hard to try and drop it all but dont risk crossing the law, got to be careful these day’s as there is so many regulations for us to follow with regards to drivers hours. Anyway iv’e heard alot of bad things about this company but hey id give it a shot just to get my foot on the ladder.
