In the current issue of T&D there’s an article on the new tomtom truck navigation solution £119 plus vat.
It explains all about algorithms n stuff but does say where I can buy it. There’s no info on the tomtom website either.
Does anyone know anything?

Its just comes as an SD card which only works in the TomTom GO x30 series, the truck navigation system comes with maps of Central and Western Europe.

the tom tom website says
TomTom WORK Truck Navigation is an optional add-on to TomTom WORK Active solution.
so in essence it would not work on my 520 cos i don’t have tomtom work then? wouldn’t mind giving it a run out just to see how good it is.

It’s an expansion to the regular TomTom “WORK” system, which means that it isn’t (yet?) available for all users of TomTom devices. What’s pro cab like, Is it effective, does it guide you around bridges etc, can you still use tomtom poi’s? So many questions!!!
so if i was able to buy it on an sd card do i just pop the card into the tomtom and use it or do i have to set it all up again? does it mix in with original map

the tomtom truck maps have been hacked not sure if they work then the lastest maps appear to have hacked with in 3 days of them coming out so if you are inclined then you could get the proper map on your tomtom just remember you will be using a hacked product its not not somthing i can condone but if you search you can find it and get it
I got the pro cab plus on my tom tom it works quite well it has heights, weights, widths. also truckstops petrol stations supermarkets and other things. It dosent really route you round bridges unless u set it up to avoid just warns you about them in advance.

After downloading the. Cab file you can open it with a program like WinRAR and unpack the contents on your computer (NOT TO YOU TOMTOM) and then transfer the contents to the root of your GPS with a copy / paste that replace the old files.

do i just have to cut and paste it into the root directory of my tt or do i have to delete anything first?
Make sure you back up everything first just in case. Then just copy everything to the root directory. Dont have to delete everything, just replace if it asks you. Tell us if it works

it seems to be working perfectly, not sure if i’ve got all the vehicle settings right yet but i’ve put in my job for tomorrow and isn’t routing me through any villages, in fact it’s taking me the way i always go!!! lol.
