TNUK questions

What questions haven’t been asked for a while ■■

I’ll start…

Can you drive a Class 1 unit (minus trailer) on a Class 2 license ■■ And does the 5th wheel need to be under the bed ■■

:grimacing: :grimacing:

I would say that you can, though a DCPC trainer said that you cant.I am now qualified having listened to 35 hours of utter nonsense.

What is a license? Always thought this was a UK site, the clue being in the title TNUK.

I hope you can as I did it for servicing purposes for over a year before I had my class 1 licence

You can drive a artic on a C licence without a trailer attached and you don’t have to move the 5th wheel, the only thing i would say is check that the insurance is OK for you to do it.

there a sticky on the safety forum that coffee put up about this

Sorry Darb, most spelling mistakes don’t bother me, however Americanisation of spelling English words is my bugbear. Could be something to do with me despising America and all things American and yes that includes you President Obama.

I may be wrong, but I think there was an element of sarcasm in the OPs question.

I had a argument with someone at work last Friday, in the snow we have a plough fitted to a shunt motor, they were under the kosh on nights as its only a skeleton shift but a few of us warehouse lads have cat C so I offered to drive the shunt motor to clear the yard of snow and the roads on the industrial estate was told I didn’t have the right entitlement, which is BS as I know you can drive any fixed bodied vehicle with a cat C.

I’d be intrigued to know exactly what licence or certification he thinks you do need.

Yes you are correct. Any rigid vehicle (non pcv) can be driven on a Cat C
