The good news is that the gaffers at DVV Media (TN’s owners) are now actually dealing with it.

But from that it would appear that it has taken DVV media three weeks to get around to actually doing something. Would that be that the various advertisers have had a look at the bottom of the page each sponsors, and not been very happy that the footfall has dropped through the floor and collectively said: “Oi get on with it or it’s bye bye”?
So how about an apology from DVV media and they stop treating us like the very worst of main dealers do. Some of us buy their magazines; it’s easy enough to stop.

I can confirm that DVV have taken action on this, the process is ongoing.
I will post a board-wide announcement once the job is ready to progress to the next stage.

You are of course correct. Why target a nations banking or manufacturing infrastructure when for a really devastating attack you can go straight for the nations beating heart; a trucking forum?
Today the site has been really difficult to use, several times I have had the “Failure to connect” message and just have to start again.
Painfully slow when it does connect and at least 3 times I have lost the connection mid posting and just given up and come back later!

Agreed, but it does seem to clear up once in a while.
I’m noticing the evenings seem to be best for speed, whereas the mornings are really pants.
The middle part of the day seems to be a case of we might catch a lucky break!

Not sure what’s more off putting. The continueing go slow (which by this point is clearly showing how much the owners care about this site, and indeed us, the public), or the recent, inevitable, popping up of a number of new “members”, posting the usual drivel…

We have NOT been abandoned, it’s the same for all of us… a fix is on the way.

It’s rather longer than 3 weeks TBH.
It wasn’t that they didn’t believe me, but once I’d reported it they had to see for themselves, then consider their options.
DVV’s I.T. guys consulted with other I.T. guys, then DVV awarded Discourse the gig.
Discourse has completed their assessment and are now getting on with the job of working with DVV’s I.T. guys to get the job done.
I will update the announcement when I have something new and concrete to tell everybody.
