Star down under.:
Thanks Dave, it wasn’t a shot at you. It seems you, like we plebs, are being treated like mushrooms.
Thanks S D U.
For a time, I was almost as much in the dark as the rest of us.
I’d had several Zoom meetings and phone calls with DVV, but I didn’t want to say anything at that exact time in case it all turned out to be brushed under the carpet. Fair play to DVV, they took it seriously and looked into it in their own time and in their own way, then they got back to me.
There were more discussions, then a decision was made.
That’s why I go quiet for a time… It’s whilst I wait and give the wheels a chance to turn.
(I won’t deal in BS)
The outcome of all this is that we’re moving to a completely new platform, so all I can add is that I trust the person who told me.
the nodding donkey:
Not sure what’s more off putting. The continueing go slow (which by this point is clearly showing how much the owners care about this site, and indeed us, the public),
I’m afraid that you’re well wide of the mark with that comment, but I’ll quickly say that I completely understand how you could have come to that opinion.
Let’s just say that I’ve been working on this for a good couple of months, but was waiting for something concrete to tell everybody.
If you read my post halfway down page #6 of this topic and my announcement at the top of every forum, you’ll get some idea that we are far from having been ignored.
the nodding donkey:
… or the recent, inevitable, popping up of a number of new “members”, posting the usual drivel…
Let’s just say that there’s been a bit of a tidy up going on recently.
simcor:
Yes the announcement is a sticky on all forum sections and can be seen on tappatalk.
Thanks for that simcor, that’s clarified it for me.
Now I’m not understanding Stu’s question.
It’s just how I use Tapatalk rather than what’s possible. I usually just look at unread, rather than searching different forums/sections. Don’t worry I’ve found it now.
Checking the connection

Running Windows Network Diagnostics
ERR_TIMED_OUT
Check your Internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server…
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don’t believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings… > Change proxy settings… > LAN Settings and deselect “Use a proxy server for your LAN”.

I’m sure that’s all very good advice Quinny, but the issue causing the slowdown has been identified and is known to lie elsewhere.
