all they an do is report the time speed reg and direction to local plod and if they have time they might send you a little letter that says SLOW DOWN. that’s all that can be done really

Don’t know what they can do if anything, put it down as duffers with to much time on there hands.

Tell you what can be done, toot them up so they ■■■■ themselves, then give them the 1% rise so they choke to death on their Werthers Originals.
Interfering oxygen thieving coffin dodgers.

I saw some old duffers doing it in Kent last week can’t remember the road though.

Nothing they can ie points and fine, same goes for if you are pulled for speeding if the police officer is been trained to use the gun. That ones from experience

At there age you’d have thought they would have found somewhere more private…

I imagine it was one of those ‘Community Speed Check’ areas.

The volunteers holding the gun are trained by their local police force & getting caught several times can lead to prosecution.

norfolk.police.uk/safetyadvi … watch.aspx

Either that or it’s some nimby’s compiling data in support of their campaign to have ‘juggernauts’ banned from passing through their village.

A flip side of ‘community speed watch’ is sometimes they claim for months and months that wagons and cars are thundering through “insert generic village/street name” and after a few sessions they finally realise it’s people’s perception of a vehicle’s speed as opposed to its actual speed.

This makes me laugh your all calling them coffin dodgers! What’s the average age of HGV drivers 50+.
I include myself in that age and I’m no coffin dodger.

see them regular in a village by me mom and dads where its a 40 and 100 yards past where they sit in deck chairs its NSL. my cars loud anyway (focus ST with full milltek exhaust) but its quite satisfying cruising dead on the speed limit in 2nd past them ready to open the taps on the NSL sign

funny you never see them at lunch time or when its raining.

Just remembered it was near Cranbrook as I was on my way to Fridays.

Seems like some do not like the thought of people recording their speed. Some nasty comments from the usual suspects.
They might have a different attitude if one of their family gets mowed down by a speeding vehicle.
30 limits are usually in built up areas where there is a high risk of pedestrians crossing the road and anyone who breaks the limit deserves all they get especially so called professional drivers.

Nah! Rules are for other people.

Fair play to them in built up areas, what I don’t agree with is money generating cameras like those on the A52.

Speed enforcement is the job of the police, no different to the prats who’ll overtake a hgv and then drive at 40 to make sure they’re doing no more than the limit. Same as the SAGA Louts in Bradford on Avon with their pathetic “Lorry Watch”. In fact it’s no different to Neighbourhood Watch; Just bored people who think they’re slightly more important than they are, wanting to intervene in other peoples’ lives. I bet they’re the same boring prats who sit beside roads, doing traffic surveys. Just to earn a bit more money to spend at a National Trust property or to put their Rover 25 through it’s next mot.

I read the thread title and thought :open_mouth:
