But was his idea of a ‘unity’ union not doomed to failure from day one? There is no unity amongst the drivers in the haulage industry, never has been and never will be. Many years ago I was involved in an organised nationwide drivers strike and we complied not because we wanted to but because we had to otherwise the company (and us as drivers) would have suffered by loosing work in the long term. I cant even remember what the strike was about now.
If the junior doctors union cant get any decent results from their ongoing action now I’m sure Barrie’s ideas would be laughed out of play as much as I admire his apparent dedication to improving the drivers lot but it would have been nice for him to simply explain what he intended to achieve.

For all his faults, Barrie did not deserve to be attacked, to be hung, drawn and quartered by a few thugs, aided in a cloaked manner by the mods. Yes that’s how I saw it mods. He broke the rules to allow this Q&A despite knowing the risks. he failed to control the “hounds” when it was clear that certain people where more interested in beating the man. Peter/Alan/John, whilst your blind love and dedication to protect Barrie is admirable in certain quarters, I bring back the topic to the very simple point.
Barrie asked for this Q&A and made a compliant by going to the very top boss which he then posted about on line.
He want this thread.
But here is the kicker, for all of this thread and people asking questions they could of very easy been shut up and left out in the cold by answering the questions.

I must make one thing clear here I did not LIE. Read the post again and you will see it and understand it maybe. I said I was told by a mate who happens to be a friend of Barrie Rabbit and who has met him at one of his parties at Skegness that he was not working. He vehemently denied this said I was a liar but it wast me who made it up I was told by one of his own friends He gave us a name of an employer but that means nothing I couldn’t be bothered any more about proceeding with that but truth always comes out. I apologised for it and he accepted but he really didn’t. It was his friend who told me not me making it up. I made that clear. He also told me stuff that I did not post. It was not me lying read the post again Peter. I was not so aggressive so much as forceful and kept pointing out things which I felt we needed to know in a strong way. The rabbit then kept calling me a liar all through the remainder of the session but believe me it did him more harm than me. and I thought ah the man doth protest too much. Barrie Tozer is a man who if you disagree with him he loses it and insults anyone who does so. Now I have no idea whether he has a job or not and I don’t really care that much.
Once he kept calling me a liar I told him he had made a mistake and I think that man showed just how incapable he is in debate discussion or anything that he does not want to talk about. They’re going to see a pack of guys rounding on a guy who couldnt swing back fast enough and to an outsider looking in, it would NOT look good. It would scream bullying and abuse and would look like you were all baying for blood and they will not see what you were trying to prise out of him,they will instead rush out in sympathy for him.
Im not saying we should feel sorry for him. As Mike says, he wanted to come on here and went over everyones heads to do it (which I believeis probably the only reason it wasnt locked) and I think he must have had some idea of how it would go but by the time it got to page 18 it had turned dark.
All im saying is that as someone who has no idea of Barrie or his history, you didnt convince me not to bother with the PDU. He did that by the time we got to 5 pages with the way he was answering (or not as the case may be!) but I dont get swayed easy. My opinon is still the same now as it was back then. Plenty people are swayed too easily (its why the jury system is hopeless) and a lot of outsiders who read this thread will, by the end, be totally on Barries side due to the way he was treated on here. Some of you might hate him (some of you DEFINITELY do) but stayin civil might have been a better idea. Post your opinions and leave it at that

Listen i’m not on trial here. For me asking him where his deserting Membership was going he decided to bring up a complete untruth, to say i was banned for abuse. As i shown, the exact reverse was true. Just why he came out with that nugget, i’ve no idea. Luckily for me i was able to substantiate it, as generally i think people would take the word of someone who proclaims to be honest and upright etc…
And Barrie Rabbit, by his own admission here and elsewhere, we now know did not get kind permission to have his Q&A. He made complaint to get it, and boasted of his complaint. And of his own free will, obviously forgetting the fact he’d told everyone, then went on to tell us how “confidential” it was. Etc…He forgets just who he tells what and where he posts it.
