Hi Phantom 309, that motor looks familiar, do you know who it belongs to or even who it belonged to, i used to work out of Elford Quarry in the late 80’s and i think that motor worked out of their as well, only it was dark blue then.

Many old 80’s Volvo’s are still working hard in Malaysia. Here is one that its owner driver said was imported second hand from the UK in 1989. It carries 20 tonnes of cement around Malaysia on a daily basis.
Here’s my 2 penn’th
an f7 tipping next to me in liverpool about 1986
me old man drove a few at barnfathers, i remember asking what the "squealing noise " was when he was braking , he replied "its me bumhole trying to grip the seat " he said the f7 was pulling more than the f10,s were , and full loaded the brakes were there to make a horrible noise , so people would get out of the way .
remember that it was always going in to get rear spring front shackle bolts changed , as they were prone to snap ?

hi adr or should i say chris (klondike) how are you?don,t know if you remember me or not ?the transporter company cannons bought those F7,s off was allstar at southampton!! mine was vka861v there is a picture on here of it but not in cannons colours unfortunately i have got some but can,t find them at moment as soon as i do i will post em.
Hi Andrew, you are right mate it has been a long time, l would count back how many years but it would scare me! l’m not doing too bad mate thanks, still looking at the world through a windscreen! I’m not one of those that goes for the rose tinted specs idea, having known nothing but wagons since l was about 5, l don’t think l ever looked at it in that way, having seen all sides of the game over the years, there was always the bits that sucked, but you just got on with it thinking that the next run would be better! Cannons was a good job though really wasn’t it, fair bit of variety, & on the whole you were just left to get on with it. I see Duffy occasionally, but are you still in touch with any of the others? Fuzzy, Buffalo, Brian Graves, Mick Longbottom, etc! What are you up to, was it you that saw my mate from Bicester on the ferry a few months ago? He’s got a white FH Globetrotter, I sure it was you he said he was talking to!

Hi Andrew,
Yes mate I still on the Gas Tanks, Cryoservice now, but still running out of Air Products @ Didcot, I Supervisor now so still driving them as well, makes it a bit more varied, have a day in the Depot every wednesday to do all the paperwork etc for 7 wagons/10 drivers. last run I did across the water was about 9 years ago when I was on for H.S. Frederiks, Nijmegen, miss it the way it was then mate, but not the way it is now! I live in a little village, married again (3rd time lucky!), my daughters have grown up, aged 16 & 20, but got a 5 year old boy, I’ve had 1 night out in the last 5 years! Quite happy to go home every night & take my 3 gun-dogs up the fields, got 4 pubs in the village as well so life not that bad! Hows ure big-bruv, I heard he is on Containers out of Southampton? Where did you go after Cannons?
