I would have thought that a woman of your calibre would have a gardener to take care of ALL of your needs.

Put black polythene under the gravel and the weeds won’t come up. We have a big drive, but good drainage, also plenty of lawns, but not to much veg or flower area’s, just enough to cheer the place up and give some colour.

I’ll show you what WE are going to do. So off I goes to Wickes and ordered 6 x 1 tonne bags of gravel to be delivered by hiab later in the week, a local lad with a JCB to level things off (£10 thank you)…job done. The Wickes lad with the hiab was good, he just about spread the lot for me. The rain washes it, no weeds because of the porous membrane under the gravel.
I gravelled and paved mine over back in 2003.

Ang cheat. Now I know you are a lady with high morals, but as age overtakes us , and the NHS dishes out the sticks and blue discs - Take advantage of the situation. The odd whimper when you mount a step, the quiet grimmace as you draw out your Platinum Card and kneed your forehead as you try to remember your pin number ( same as the reg on your Roller) works wonders with we unfortunates. OH! what dreams eh!

Just found out the devastating news that my friends’s toddler grandson has been told, after 4 lots of gruelling chemo, that his cancer has spread to his spine and brain. Treatment has now been stopped and he is being sent home to spend quality time with his family.
So people, think about what makes you happy, spend time with the people that you love, forget about the people who make you unhappy. Make happy memories because sometimes you just don’t know what is around the corner.
My heart goes out to this family and when I stop crying, I will take my own advice! x

Nothing you can say Ang they can patch an old bugger like me up and give me
so far nearly another eleven years and a bairn of such tender years has been
sent home to end what seems like only a short time on this earth, there isn’t
anything to say other than I pray for a miracle and the little un’ is spared and
makes a miraculous recovery, it would be the best reading ever.

It seems as if any treatment that was being given has been stopped (chemo is not nice) with that in mind, and i know this will sound unbelievably crass and cruel, but for the parents sake the sooner it’s all over the better. I KNOW what it’s like to lose a child, my daughter was 43, not ill in any way, went to bed one night and just died. The bottom falls out of your life, the youngsters parents are at this moment going through absolute hell and I really do feel for them. It’s 4 years since my Claire died and the plight of this youngster and the parents has brought it all back. I’m sitting here crying as I type.
