RE: BRUTALITY TO TRAILER MATES.
I believe that Slavery was abolished in the early/mid 19th century and Corporal punishment about mid 20th century! Obviously these changes to the law of the land never percolated through to the deepest corners of East Lancashire as “H” was quite happily dispensing his idea of summary justice to the poor trailer mates long after such barbarity had been outlawed :open_mouth: .I wonder if any of the aforementioned mates could be persuaded to step forward and make the necessary statements to enable the cause of justice to take it’s course and that the “Perp” will receive his just desserts ! Anon 1.

Hiya,
Anon, The youngest trailer boy I had was I think 17 and myself at the time would
be only 21 so if he’s still “quick” he’s going to be around the 75 mark at one place
I worked as a “wag and drag man” the mates were “kept on drivers” one of them
would have been in his 60s and had been de-licenced due to “poor lamp oil” so if
your still around Jimmy Mac you will have had several 100 plus birthdays, Jimmy
taught me a lot as a young 20odd year old and him being a long term wag n’ drag
man himself before having failing vision took him from drivers seat to mates seat.
thanks harry, long retired.

Hiya,
Have had a few days down in North Wales, my daughter lives in Llysfaen near
Conway, we met a couple of great grandchildren for the first time and since
our return we’ve been full of busy looking after the grandchildren at this end
and here’s me thinking I was retired, Larry I’ve not been able to sample the
goodies for a while now too many tablets all carrying the zero alcohol info
and the end of the tablet taking doesn’t look like coming along any time soon.

OK “H” lets 'ave it,the winner of the National !! You-ll have probably done it ante post so the few quid us lads put on won’t affect your bet to-day  Norm will have been shovelling it on as well no doubt ! Cheers Dennis.

Hiya,
Dennis, for the first time in my adult life (old enough to booze and bet) I haven’t
had a bet, my personal choice would have been A P McCoy’s mount and the only
reason being I’ve a feeling he’ll go out in a blaze of glory, you can safely put your
money on our Norman backing the winner though but he won’t tip us the winner
until after the race and he’s stuffed his winnings in the mattress and they talk of
the Scots being tight they actually took lessons off Old Norman.
thanks harry, long retired.

Just as well you didn’t have a bet Harry

AP McCoy says he thought he would win the 2015 Grand National before he eventually finished fifth aboard Shutthefrontdoor.

Hiya,
Well Larry, you’ve sold it to me, I did have a snifter of the Welsh wonder juice
when on my break down in North Wales over the Easter weekend and yes it Is
comparable to many of the Scottish single malts that I’ve tried, and all I need
is the Missus turning a blind eye when we’re next in Morrison’s so’s I can sneak
a bottle into the trolley when traversing the booze aisle, I’m still limited to my
intake (which really should be zero due to my medication) but a wee dram’s is
OK I guess when the missus is round the shops.
thanks harry, long retired.

Good for you Harry you know the old saying a little bit of what you fancy does you good , Regards Larry.

Hiya,
Spot on Larry there are a few things I’d still enjoy doing but enjoying a decent
drink is the only one I think if it came to the crunch, is about my lot.

Haven’t had a pint of beer for over a week, because I’ve been on antibiotics, but a pint of Guinness tasting good tonight.
