Driver-Once-More:
Harry, If you have a National Holidays or Shearings where you live, look out for a hotel in Blackpool called Libertys on the Bay. It is a fantastic hotel.
It’s only a short walk from the Tower and the centre of town. It’s near North Pier.
Hiya,
D O M, there are several coach operators this way but we are happy to use
David Urquhart the Blackpool hotel that they use is the Manhattan it’s very
close to Liberty’s and we quite like the place I don’t think my missus would
want me to change, and we live only a short way from the Urquhart’s pick-
up point (we can see it from our rear bedroom window) if we had to use
Shearings or National it would be a taxi ride to get on the coach they don’t
pick up in Chester le Street and the taxi fare is about £15 each way.
thanks harry, long retired.

You are still among the shrewdest in the pack Harry, saving enough on taxi fairs to stock up with malt.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
Aye’ “Riggers”, still got my car but find I’m using it less and less being on a bus
route with very frequent service we tend to travel mainly by bus especially if
going to Newcastle or Durham where finding a place to park is nigh impossible
and you need a second mortgage to pay the parking charges, I got rid of the
caravan a couple of months ago, it was getting quite old (1995) I more or less
gave it away, so we don’t really need a car nowadays and only keep it on a
just in case basis, one of those non essential expensive gadget thingy’s which
my Missus insists we must keep, she doesn’t subscribe to the running costs in
any shape or form though that’s maybe why, maybe I should present her with
a few running cost bills may just sway her to “get shut” I know the answer, it
would be “It’s your car nowt to do with me” Women Eh’.
thanks harry, long retired.

The thing is Harry, you can’t be without your good lady, as Dave Rigsby has admitted. Its not nice living alone. I have a few times, but must admit its nice having a good lady around. Hope your wife is soon back at home with you Dave, and fit and well.
So keep the car, would be my advice Harry.
Cheers Dave

Hiya,
Get her back home as quick as you can Mate nowt like a bit of a cuddle these
cold nights I’ve only ever tramped “the cat and fiddle” a couple of times in all
my years on the road and I hasten to add it was enough, I’d never have been
a driver if that was going to be my regular route, next time you visit your
good lady just tell her you’ve put a sign in the front window, half a bed to let
and she’ll be out of that hospital and in the passenger seat before you can get
your backside out of her bedside chair, anyway Pal hope she’s on the mend.
thanks harry, long retired.
got her back today harry , a lot better but not totally cured . she’s waiting for a brain scan next to check her cranial blood supply . i suppose i shall have to look after her a bit , in sickness and in health and all that . it will be nice to hear her mumbling in her sleep again , and keeping my back warm while she’s doing it . cheers , dave .

Hiya,
Nice to hear you’ve got “the boss” home “Riggers” just hope you get her fighting
fit in quick time otherwise you’ll be getting laxadizical in your ways and then it
won’t be a cold back to worry about it’ll be the thick ear she metes out as only
a woman can and combined with silent meals they specialize in, the ice front is
just starting to melt at Gill Manor it appeared on Saturday when I had a bit of a
moan when out shopping, I hate shopping and do go on a bit when press ganged
into it, “if your mate calls for you to go for a pint you stick your cap on quicker
than I can draw breath” it’s bit to late to think about trading her in now though
I don’t think anybody else could put up with me either and she’d have to be rich
and deaf and dumb and possibly a pub owner.
thanks harry, long retired.

Glad to here that your wife is home Dave. I hope she has a full recovery from her health issue.
Harry what you need is ‘’ a deaf and dumb nymphomaniac with arthritis ‘’ ,then you would be complaining.
Cheers Dave.

Hi Larry,
I’m afraid the Harry isn’t in malt mode at the moment, he’d focused on females, or as Brian G O M calls them wimmin. You might have your work cut out re-focusing him back to the malt’s.
Cheers Dave.

Hiya,
It has to be the stiff drink Dave and Larry, it’s just the tablets don’t take kindly
to being mixed with single malt so it has to be midday when I’m in the middle
of my doses and I can have a drink, and only a small one but it does mean the
bottle lasts a while longer, I’ll be having a look in Morrison’s when we do the
shopping on Friday I am getting a bit low and the Welsh one seems good value
for money Oh’ and what does “stiff” mean in another context I’ve forgotten but
still prepared to be re-educated if I can bring my old lady out of retirement.
thanks harry, long retired

Get the jump leads and the WD40 out of the garage Harry, and hire a wacker plate to strap to your back, and then bring your old lady out of retirement.
Cheers Dave.
Dave can you imagine Harry with a stiff drink & a stiffy at the same time, He would take some stopping I would think, The jump without the jumper leads, Ha Ha, Regards Larry.

Same here Brian. I would be lost without my good lady. As long as I’ve got her and the dog, plus a good vehicle I’m happy.
Cheers Dave.
