Northumbrian Water had a number of these when they were current, and when
moved on after their three year lifespan would have been maintained to a very
high standard and not too high mileage, they would have been a good purchase
when sold on I think by auction and they would certainly not have been flogged.

its still there as far as i know,tried to do a deal about 10 years ago but heard nowt,shame really as still in original livery,my late father worked for the firm and used to maintain/drive her,was sold to glynn swain[swains of stretton]for £200 around 78/79,what a bargain eh£

Hiya…he’d be running her in at that i’d think…
Peter Grimmer (Grimmer,s transport)when he won the Hot rod Championship in about 1984 had a 362 given to him to truck
race by MAN(all painted in their livery).when he got used to her they took the 362 truck racing, problem was it only did 62 mph.
the MAN mechanic crawled into the engine area and tweecked the truck up to 140 mph just on the pump.shows how shut down
that engine was for road use.
