How can VOSA fine you £ 250 for an offence that will cost you 3000 euros in euroland, there is supposed to be Equal harmony all over the EU,but this not the case,2000 euros for a laminated permit,3000 euros for a attestation that has biro hand writting on it,being held a prisoner until the deposit for the court is paid, most do not contest it,so they keep the money,as know the driver will be on the road and not attend the court hearing at a later date, mugs and stupidity comes to mind, they see a copper with a gun and pee in their pants, looser drivers that are wimps and cry to mummy when they are stopped.
I sign my name with biro
Toby, isnt one day a week on the sauce enough for you, you are beginning to ramble.
It was you telling us that you sat somewhere for a week because your bank card would only give you £200 per day or some such like

Since when did VOSA start handing out fines of £250, or is that for 25 turns of the handle?
The £250 was for not having dust caps on the tyres.
See your local MEP he will sort it out.
ok dokey.

Some of that fine was for having a green safety helmet, and not a yellow one.I was frog marched to a cash point to buy the correct attire at Travis Perkins.
Toby is correct that the fines are not fair accross europe, your all haveing a laugh now, because you havent been held to ransome , as of yet.

you don’t have to commit a crime to get a fine.
if you get stopped in spain or bulgaria, then you’re paying.
Simon, for a moderator, that is a stupid comment, i been driving international for 23 yrs now, i have paid all my fines, of which i have had plenty and some more, i have no problem with paying a fine, however i would agree that the fines across europe are not a level playing field, or anywhere near it.that was what the posting was about, ,Please add a sensible comment, or if you have nothing to add to the posting, just keep quiet, best regards richmond.
i got fined for vagrancy in Spain, for not having credit to pay for break downs or tyre call outs, the Guardia Civil officer asked if i had a card,i said no thinking he was going to walk around the truck and make up a false charge.
I did have cards on me,i appealed to the embasy,no joy, just got a letter to say they had recieved the fine money, the copper was in the bar after having a laugh with his mates.
