3 premium shifts for that pittance or are you a joker that would work for that ?
I read it as…
Simply shafted.
I can’t think of anywhere else you’d get less than that working every Fri Sat Sun, starting at those unearthly hours too
There must be a missprint somewhere, if not they’ll get the quality of applicant they richly deserve.
Sinister:
“Should you be successful in your application, your offer will be subject to and conditional upon you providing your bank account details before your agreed start date.”
Of all the things to consider, this is the one they deem to be a potential deal breaker.

This was the only interesting part of the whole advert…

£20996 inc o/t and shift payment etc etc plus working w/e thats whats funny, in the the words of John McEnroe you can not be serious.
Do the maths, £20996pa looks bad at first glance but consider the fact its only 3 days a week and more than likely based on 8 hour shifts then the rate is £16.92ph.
I’m not saying that’s a particularly stand out rate for getting up at daft o’clock at the weekend, but considering your more than likely gonna be home before midday it’s probably not a bad part time gig for someone out there.
It’s 24 hours a week. A lot of guys would consider £42k a good base salary for a 48hr week.
Tin hat on.

Life assurance - 5 x your contractual pay
That you are worth more dead.
Another dressed up attempt to get folk working weekend/unsociable hours for flat rate.

Why is it “more than likely”? Over 15 years I only ever had one driving job which was an 8 hour shift, and only that low when you factor in your 45 mins

It’s a unionised in house supermarket gig. They always tend to be based on 40-45hrs before OT starts kicking in.
A full time driving contract at Tesco (such as this) is based on 42.5 hours. The 2.5 will be for a daily half hour WTD break.
Nice little gig for someone, 3x 8.5 hour shifts.
Tesco have the same problem as everyone else they can’t get agency drivers at weekends this way they get their weekend drivers put your name in the rest day working book for the extra shifts plus the weekend and night time enhancement not a bad number.
Iv’e had 11 years with them now no complaints easy stress free more of a hobby than a job.
Gotta be honest Tesco is quite possibly the easiest job I’ve had. Advertised pay looks bad but what you end up with quite nice, can guarantee a quarter of my time is sat around doing nothing and another quarter is waiting.
I’ve done continental, nights out, general and this trumps the lot. Most of the time I just drop and swap trailers
That will be for 8.5hrs a day too.
Every little helps!
J
im on better than that hourly driving rigids

I agree.
Also it’s more than doable to get 50k for a 50 hour week at Tesco.

50k ? Not at the DC I work from on the new contract £12.399 ph basic for 42.5 hours. Time and half after that. Time and a quarter on weekends.
