I’ve used this place since it first opened on and off, but until last night it was first time in a few years.
Paid my 13quid, got a 2quid meal voucher (bit stingy) and shower ticket.
Went in shower…stone ■■■■ cold.
Thought ah well, I’ll nip to bar and have a quick pint…Closed.
At least I had eaten earlier as cafe was also …Closed, where as some would have went hungry.
Ok it was around 2045, but if they’re gonna charge you full whack, you would think they would stay open for a snack at least, or even give you a discount after a certain time.
So not a great experience there last night.
Or am I expecting too much.

Bloody hell Rob you just made an old man Very old , last time I stopped at Tebay it was 4 quid and they were open 24 hours . I was driving an erf with a 320 ■■■■■■■ and a twin splitter , work it out .
Had a shower there yesterday free with putting over 200 litres of fuel in , good showers hot and powerful, breakfast roll was a bit stingy seen as it almost cost a fiver but always been the same there with prices thats why I hardly ever eat there ,cafe always seams half empty maybe they would have more custom if they were more realistic

They have been closing early every night for food for the last week or so we’ve been doing a trailer swap there instead of Penrith.

So not interested so much in providing a basic service for drivers, but content to keep taking your money.

I remember taking my two eldest kids in when they were little, and they are now both in their 30s.
Christ now I also feel ■■■■ old.
Pre Bat Flu days , I found the food good quality and good value , especially their homemade casserole dishes and breakfast .
The self service jet wash was ideal to wash the dried salt off the windscreen in winter and dried up bugs in the summer .

Was one of the best cafes in the country once over imo, then it turned to crap with the new owners about 4 or so yrs ago, ain’t been in since I got an over expensive poor quality meal.

Used to love Tebay, you could rinse your cab off with the jet wash, have a decent meal and a shower as you say for about 4 quid if you paid, nobody really cared but the place was busy, we filled up at Crooklands in those days though
I thought it shut down ? I did stop there twice when we last spoke about it ,I did find it ok food wise but at night a bit noisy from milk tankers next door .

Personally I would always choose Truckhaven over Tebay and secondly “most deadly virus ever” I take it that’s just a bit of sarcasm [emoji848]
Another vote for Truckhaven over the oach over spill facility for the MSAs next door.
Last time I stopped at Tebay, the place had about 6 or 7 coaches in… when I commented that the Services were just up the road, I got a filthy look, and the staff didnt see interested either. I guess a coach is more profitable than a truck. Oh well, I used the facilities, and had my dinner elswhere.
