Tarmac tippers


The livery of the current Breedon Aggregates trucks, goes back to the same colours with Ennstone branding, Ennstone-Johnston, and before that the black and white of the jv with Tarmac / Johnston (they who also made the roadsweepers).

L.E.Talbot run three very smart trucks out of Ennstone’s Leaton Quarry near Telford, the Volvo being one of the smartest…both pictured at rest over the weekend

TARMAC:
Quarries all OK in West, but we are left with only 9 Topmix Plants, Concrete Plants going to be sold inc Kington, Telford, Lynclys, Bayston Hill, Wooferton, Wellington, Worcester…

All Tarmac plants in South Wales bar one @ Llanwern are being sold.
South Cornelly(bridgend), Cardiff Docks, Cefn garw(North Cardiff) and Tredegar.
Along with Lafarge, Newport,Briton Ferry, Llanelli,Cardigan, Pembroke dock,Llandubie(Ammanford)and carmarthen.
Tarmac /Lafarge will only have 3. Llanwern, Taffs Well(JCT 32 M4) and Ewenny Bridgend

another newish truck at cloud hill

Here you go Bonky just for starters.I spoke to Julian last week he’s the chap who took this photo in Dubai along with a few more while he was working out there for Fodens of Sandbach.I have arranged to meet with him next weekend at the show at Smallwood and he is bringing along a few photos for me to scan and put on here,dont know if they are all Tarmac but he says he has a few so fingers crossed.

That’s great Stanny mate, cheers. Think that pic was in a recent edition of C&VC. Be good to see if the lad has any other khaki material!

have you anymore of haulmacs?HAULMAC was owned by halton east quarrys on the A59 about 5 miles north of skipton.when they were going strong they ran about 20 moters,clydesdales,reivers,constructors a couple of erf,s and that 400 aki.i spent all my childhood riding shotgun with my uncle who drove for hawkesworths in a 200 aki also pulled out of there so lots of memories just need the pics to go with them.

That one looked nasty from the pic I saw from the side view in the Shropshire Star.

The car driver is fit & well,he spent 2 months in hospital with broken arm,punctured lung and head injuries.

That’s a great pic from ChopChop, cheers pal. Here’s one from Cromford in the 70s. Wagon (I think) based at Middle Peak.

O/D from holme hall quarry,still not heard if breedon have bought quarry,told on friday marshalls next door have laid all drivers off,dont know if its true or just a rumour?
