Can’t imagine what it would be like breaking down with a full load of asphalt in the back ! Mither indeed !
Hey mate,if you get chance whilst waiting to load tar or when you get chance, fancy posting a few pics of tippers in your area ? You could start a new thread, say Tarmac tippers - the new colours !
curnock:
hey bonkey !has photobucket got the hump with you ?
Seems that way doesn’t it ?
I will have to sort it I guess as I have over 1200 photos on their site. I could go to TinyPics, but really can’t be mithered uploading all the photos again (lifes too short) so I shall have to upgrade my account and pay 40 dollars for the privelige.
Wheel Nut:
I hope my Breedon on the Hill Foden wasnt the straw that broke your camels photobucket
or was it that bouncing avatar?
Apparently you can only upload 5Gb worth of photos each month, and in the last fornight PB have deemed me to be very busy on the uploading front !
The photos will be returned to their full glory on the 15th,so I’m sure you don’t mind waiting until then !
It’s either that or pay north of 20 quid to open a ‘premium’ account and I’m not parting with any cash as I’m too tight !
You’re from Stoke, yeah ? Do you remember the tar plant Tarmac had at Etruria Vale that processed waste slag from the adjacent steel works ? I think it closed in the early 90s.
I was wondering if they had their own fleet there in the 70s or 80s.
Great pics again Bonkey, liked the six wheeler Thames Trader,a much underated lorry in my opinion, never saw any in six wheeler tipper form around here, only in six wheeler flatbeds.
Cheers Dave.
Some lovely old Tipper photos on this threads that’s for sure. I’m not certain why I can’t see all of them though, do I have to have photobucket to view the pictures or have some been deleted??
It’ll be nice to see somw ARC, Yeomans, Hanson, Hobbs, Wimpey tipper pictures too. There must be a lot around.
Thanks to those who have shared the pictures, they’re lovely. I’ll try & post some of mine.
