I dont know her dads first name but their surname was definitely McClelland

Hi ramone I thought it was. When you mentioned the name Machaela it clicked the old memory box and I remember I use to speak to her and her Dad when I worked at Sadlers,we sometimes subbed work to each other on many occasions during the late 80s/90s.

I don’t know either but when Sykes closed the garage and contracted it out to Volvo and DAF one of the fitters went to drive for them a young blonde haired lad and I can’t recall his name but he was a good lad and will be in his 50s now as he was 10 to 15 years younger than me so they would be west Yorkshire or had a yard there.
cheers Johnnie

I think he was called David Hartley.

One of the best known Tanker fleets ever!

Another Great British haulier long gone!

One or two photos taken today of the impressive fleet of Lynch Tankers from Sandbach formally Northwich. In my opinion one of the best independent tanker companys around these days.

Taken with the kind permission of Mike Denny transport manager of Lynch Tankers.

Gone but not quite forgotten. Not the Sammy Jones we remember though. :frowning:
