It is Ramone, the A62 taken from the Motorman’s Café.
10 out 10 Chris it is the A62 Standedge road and I think the photo is one of the late Roger Kenneys from a book I own,and like tastrucker says they should be enjoyed and not hidden away.

I agree with you John.He took quite a few photos from that spot and my favourite was the Total Oil AEC MK5 Mammoth Major.
Looking at the second steer mudguard and the broken tank strap he has been pretty close to something!
Pete.

Hello ramone and Stanfield werent Henry Long from Leeds they ring a bell . Fearn tankers from Barnsley would come to courtaulds as would Wyatt from Leeds , i would see them at monsanto as well . And i believe there was someone called LPG from Batley who had orange DAF tankers as well . Forgive me gentleman but i have had a drink now and my memory is not the same . huddersfield Oldham road was surely via standege . thank you Trevor

Another nice picture John. I think Bulwark were one of the first to use tri-axles for 32t running rather than 3-axled units when it had to be 5 axles?
I wonder how many Highwayman’ were actually sold to Tanker fleets over the years? It must be the best selling wagon ever on that type of work!
All you need now is a Bacon Sarnie

They will probably grow on me in time, but the new still looks odd , it’s just looks too flat, as if it’s been driven into a wall .

Cowburns, and I think Sadlers, then Tanfreight all delivered Carbon Disulphide Cs2 into Monsanto at Ruabon and Wigton in ■■■■■■■■ loaded from Courtaulds in Trafford park. Not sure if Bulwark ever ran from there though
Steve I was at Steve Tabners (ovlov) yard today and he was saying he met you the other month when he was collecting one of his tanks that I presume must have been in for repairs.
This was ex Cowburns after being taken over by Sadler.
