tacho printouts

Just a quick question.

Does everyone do a printout at the end of each day and hand a copy in to the office?

Not required by law so no.

If its company policy then do it as they are paying for it otherwise see post above

Not Law but its an individuals choice.

Yeah it’s company policy to do printouts fill in your envolpes.
Hand them in each week.

I didn’t think it was law.

Never. It was designed to be paperless.

I only do a printout it if I make a mistake. One for me, one for the office. I’ve used one roll in two years.

Think I’ve done 6 rolls in few months

Was ■■■■■■■ hysterical when I had to change it. I like to think of myself as possessing average intelligence, and it took me several tries to get the new roll in the right way round

And to think, an agency driver probably does it once or twice a week…

PS that last part was a joke, before the sensitive amongst you start crying.

Starting off as an agency driver on my firm before being taken on, I do a printout every day for my own records.
When called in a few weeks ago to be disciplined for an infringement, I queried a couple of items on the printout that did not show up on the office computer readout and our TM could not explain them and has had to enquire with the FTA tacho enquiries. I’m still trying to see him to get an answer.

Not always is the information on the tacho going onto the computers, this has happened a few times with different drivers & different vehicles. Someone will get hauled into the office & raked for it , only to find all is correct & printout shows it , but absent on the computer.

It’s probably a good idea to do a daily print out to cover yourself, just in case.

We get paid on what’s on tacho which has to match written time sheet, so I do, just to make things easier.

I obtain a printout at the end of every shift, purely as a personal record should there be any “anomalies” which require clarification. Office records aren’t always spot on, and it can be very useful should you ever need to defend your corner.

Thanks for the information.

It’s no big deal doing a print out and handing them in at the end of the week.

I had never done it in my last job. so wasn’t 100% on the legal requirements of your employers requirements for print outs.

You can easily go a print out any day you want that’s still on your card, if you had a query. I just can’t see the point of endless pieces of tacho roll stapled to diaries or tucked into pockets of diaries.

I like my paperwork like my architecture, and women, uncomplicated, slimline, minimalist. Preferably Scandinavian…

  Daft sod! I think my printing fetish stems from the inconvenient truth that ive consistently shyed away from learning the ins and outs of the head unit. Dont really know why - i just dont like em! :grimacing:

You’re not the first one to call me that…

No

Have to do one at the end of every shift. Company time sheet require us to know how many hours of driving and other work we did that day.

So does mine mate. I just look up on the head unit, the previous days other work and driving, and write that down on my time sheet.

How do you do that?
