I’ve not seen the inside of a Scania T cab, but from the outside the size of the actual cab and sleeping area looks exactly the same size as a regular box cab…
So why do people bother buying them? As far as I can tell, they just look more American to me…anyone care to enlighten me?
Maybe it is an imaged based reason, but IMHO you get a much more comfortable ride with the motor stuck out the front rather than underneath. Also a lot safer in an accident.
Even after a ton of donk has entered the office space on a sudden rush to the rear bulkhead?
Unless those Scandinavians are really clever, I’d be inclined to lift my whole self faster than if mum was Hoovering whilst the footy was on the telly, eh. I dare say that they’ve engineered out the possibility of avoiding a cracked windscreen by having the entire bonnet (hood?) come hurtling through it instead. Cunning, huh!
WHY would I love a T-Cab it is Quite simply YOU do not have to empty the cab WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM with the bloody engine , as you have to do with a normal truck,
I’ve often wondered this, if its the same cab just with the engine in front then no special reason. For the same length something like the Scania longline would be better no? Well, granted its a Scanny, but you get the jist lol!
We have one in our fleet, and it does not float my boat at all… bumpy ride, notchy gearchange, awkward at junctions and in tight spots, overlength with standard trailers (unless taxed at STGO like ours), pain in the balls to check the dipstick etc… these are all problems quite easily overcome by buying any make of cabover unit!!
Having said that, it does impress many folk (perhaps 'coz they don’t have to drive the poxy thing).

So why do not just buy a truck with reliable engine instead

You gotta tilt the cab on a stralis to get to the dip stick. It’s leccy tilt so that’s no too bad but you still got all yer ■■■■■ falling about the cab lol
