Is this safe? Bloke tipping next to me got a wheel nut missing on his drive axle…wheel must be fairly loose, you can see the rust marks conning from the rest of the wheelnuts
My mistake on his front wheel.
New front wheel drive truck.
Well, it is Turners of Poland - did you try telling the driver, he might not have noticed it, he also might not understand a word you say, but I’d definately have a quick word.
You can point, I’m sure he’d understand then.
To be honest he didn’t seem that bothered, just looked at and said oh…be a different story if it flies off and kills somebody.

Come on… Don’t keep us in suspenders… English or import?
Only a matter of time by the looks of it, all the wheel nut arrows are pointing in different directions as well.
Changing the subject slightly that looks like J.Sainsburys at Emersons Green, am i right ?
I’m fairly sure Turners would be interested!! I think VOSA would be fairly interested too!
The driver probably gave you the big 'un “don’t care mate, it’s got 9 more!” really he’s papping himself think how can I report this to the office and get it fixed after he did his walk round check before he took the lorry out! Studs don’t just snap!
Wrong end of the country…Iceland in Livingston.

True…
It’s a running joke about Turners, but I’ll be honest, they would not tollerate any defect when I was there, I can only comment on 1 depot / contract though.
But ANYTHING that needed doing got done before it went out, no matter what. Drivers not expected to do it either, even bulbs went round to DAF. Say you’d come in for a 4am start, and a bulb was gone, nobody at DAF until 6am but your job was booked for 6am. The bulb took priority.
I changed a few myself until I ran out of spares (none were given by Turners, just some that I had), no replacements given by Turners as it’s not a drivers job to change bulbs, so they don’t supply them.
All in all, it was a good place to work, honestly. Ok, the contract I was on the planner was a complete numpty with a bad attitude (shocker?) and the way that both I and another lad were sacked by text at the end of a shift on a Friday (Empty your wagon, you’re sacked!) was a bloody joke, but other than that.

I hope not! There can’t be 2 places that bad in the country can there?
Wheel nuts do snap off I had a 113 that regularly lost n/s/f studs, apparantly the rule is if you lose 1 you replace the other nine at the same time. Once went into Scania at Lutterworth to have the front wheel re torqued, and the fitter snapped a stud tightening it up, and would you believe it they did`nt have another 1 in stock !
Having said that it definately looks like he`s not done his daily checks properly.
Think Turners would be very interested, as would VOSA because its an immediate prohibition for loose and missing wheel nuts, and rightly so.
More than likely the wheel and hub are already damaged and it won’t be long before other studs will give up and start to shear off, an accident waiting to happen and a nice bill for Turners on the immidiate horizon
If ones missing and the others are loose it won take long to lose them all. By the sound of it that’s a new wheel studs and nuts job.
Are my eye deceiving me or is there one missing off the rear axle too
just for the blind and right way up too… SCARY…
One of the DCPC modules I did was about daily checks. Yeah I know, DCPC but it showed details of poorly torqued wheel nuts and one of the tell tale signs was the marks that radiate outwards from the wheel studs. Obvious on the second photo so that bloke aint done a very thorough check. They’ve been like like that for weeks and worthy of a prohibition.
That is frankly disgraceful…end of.
