Supermarkets near M6/M5

Bit of a daft question here and one I should probably know the answer to myself given that I drive it every night but are there any 24hr supermarkets that sell clothes the length of the M6 and M5 from Gretna to Gloucester where I can park an artic nearby without too much hassle?

Silly tool here has gone out for a week’s tramping without packing any spare socks!

It opens at 7.00am Monday morning but is then 24 hours for the rest of the week - Asda Carlisle opposite the Truckstop J44?

Was kind of hoping for something tonight but that’s handy to know. Thought maybe Tesco Carlisle at J43 or Asda Oldbury but they’re both closed overnight.

But don’t park on the estate adjacent to it, I got a ticket on there. :smiling_imp:
Either park on truckstop and walk across, or go 2 junctions down s/b to Tescos.
I’ve parked on there numerous times beside the re.cycling bins bit with no probs.

Sainsburys Cheltenham gl519rr don’t think it’s 24 hrs though. Is about mile from m5 jct 10 south. Don’t think can get off going north.
Can park on the small side road there overnight. I have done in the past.

Yeah, I had thought about the big Tesco’s at Carlisle but apparently it’s shut from 1600 Sunday until 0600 Monday and open the rest of the week. Typical!

Opens at 0700. I’ll be passing about 0400. :frowning:

I was going to suggest Asda, Oldbury J2 M5. After 10 you could probably park in the Aldi opposite, they usually have the delivery entrance through the car park. Like you say though Asda does not open until 8-00 in the morning. To be honest I think that applies to all the 24 hour big places as they can only open 6 hours on a Sunday.

Sainsburys Bamber Bridge, Park it on Cuerden Way, PR5 6BJ - go past the store and then just past the BOC and council depots.
j29 opens at 7am

Yeah, that’s what I’m starting to think. Pretty sure Asda Govan is 24 hr all week but Sod’s law dictates I’m not that far north tonight. Amazing to think you can’t pick up a 4 pack of socks the length of the country on a Sunday night. Not that I do but if I wanted, say, some cocaine I could pick up the phone and have it delivered. But socks… not a chance.

Wondering if any of the larger petrol forecourts might stock them on the off chance although the likelihood is it’ll just need to wait until tomorrow.

A real tramper, would turn them inside out on day2, on day 3 wash them in the shower, dry on dash board, repeat day 1 and 2.

Mate I’m generation snowflake. I expect 24 hour amenities at beck and call.

Okay just hang them from passenger window to blow thro.

Hang one on each mirror , get dry socks and clean mirrors

Should always carry a pair of flipflops then you can drive around with no socks on. Get some air on your feet .
and also go commando then no need for any sort of underwear to be carried around with you

For my sins I was in Rugby T/S last week. While waiting for the shower I had a nose in the ‘shop’ there’s socks on sale in there sorry I didn’t look at price though

Look under the bunk. Bound to be a few socks around there.

Don’t some of the truckstops with shops sell things like socks?

All big supermarkets close early on Sundays
