I have just been looking for that layby on Google Earth and I find it very sad that that great little country pub, about 500 yards back has fallen into disrepair. But what was the name of it  I can’t remember it now, can you ?

Was it Nags Head?

That’s the one Pig Pen, thanks for that.

That layby was very handy, if you were on a ‘Dodgy’ and you lived in Oldham…or Sheffield.

This photo was passed to me taken from a Newspaper article showing Haltwhistle before the bypass was built.
I cannot recognise which of our TKs with standard cabs this is, but History makes me feel so old. Still in my mind that could be a photo from yesterday

I’m struggling with these rear views, there are so few pictures of the back end of cars from the 1950s. I know some but not all so these are what I think. In front of shops: Rover 90, Austin 8 or Ford Anglia, Austin Hampshire or Hereford, Rootes Group Van?, dunno Jag XK? Hillman Minx, Austin Devon or Dorset

Nearest Kerb: Morris Traveller, Morris Oxford,Vauxhall Wyvern, Ford Anglia 100E

Hawick a long time ago, I remember the accumulators, back in the '40s our Cossor wireless was powered by an Ever Ready accumulator, father twiddling the dial to gain best signal which he reckoned a clear frosty night gave best results.

Another one for analysis? What have we got in this queue? I can see an AEC Reliance and a Bond Minicar. How about body work? Duple Vegas or Harrington Cavaliers present?

My Dad had two Renault 16s; one bought new in '69, the second in '72. I bought a second hand 1975 model later. They were very good cars.
