John Bunyan is still looking after that corner after all these years… I went to see live shows of The Beatles, Cilla Black, Billie Fury & Roy Orbison etc etc at The Granada in my youth lol. It was a busy main road in those days, Cambridge to Oxford, Kettering to Luton… Memories …

That shot brings back happy memories as I spent a number of my summer holidays at Dowthwaite Head I have lifted churns onto that actual stand for collection by the Express Dairy from Appleby and that shot I reckon judging by the Bedford lorry would have been mid late 50’s as Express were running Traders when I was there in 59 /62 . Incidentally the valley where Dowthwaite Head is situated has recently been sold for a couple of Million to one buyer. Aira beck runs down through the valley and eventually makes Aira Force waterfall into Ullswater .
