Strapping down loads

I will ask you one more time !
How would you secure a 2.5 to 3.5t cable drum and what size bearers to use ?
If you don’t give me a straight answer then I will rename you Mr billy Jingle bells Bull

thought I had addressed that, not in the same level of English you claim. I’m really afraid now… please don’t call me names… you’re really scary when you do that. Cochereeed with a ■■■ on it.

Is it that hard to type the answer I want or don’t you like proving your self to a van driver ?
what you got to hide ?
To quote a line from Back to the future " what’s wrong Mcfly ? chicken ?"

The mind boggles, It highlights just how some on here should not be let loose in a truck. No idea of loading and common sense, two basic requirements of being a driver. Only JJ and a couple of others have actually got the sense required to secure a load. I cannot believe how a sensible bit of advice turns into something that has provoked the know it all types and the complete idiots who are so clueless that they find the advice here so difficult to grasp. This was not a one size fits all scenario and an element of common sense was expected to prevail. It is not surprising that this industry has been pulled down to the level it is currently in. In other words ignore this post and do not see sense in what I have said. Do what you normally do, strap loads down in any way you like as the shunter did to me and if I had not re strapped it before going out on the road, I could have been put at risk by standing on the roadside tightening my ratchets in the event I needed to for any reason.

Going by this post most of us should be sitting at the road side with our loads all over the road scratching our heads wondering what happened

I wouldn’t say most of us M8, the majority of drivers know how to get through our days safely. I strongly advise you not to go near a class 1 vehicle. You can do some serious damage with your level of knowledge and attitude, I would like to doubt that you could get a start with class 1, but unfortunately you will just join the ranks of the other muppets driving on minimum wages.

As i strap my loads from both sides i seem to be doing this wrong for the last so many years. yes i think i better pack up and go to the retierment home

I just use the internal straps. Much less hassle.

Lol… a statement by the thickest f**k on planet earth.

I actually think I once met you… what a little ■■■ u r.

Quite possible. But please be more specific. I have met many people like you, and always instantly forget them.

May well be the case, what are you strapping that you think requires both sides?

You’re totally clueless about me ! Don’t call me mate as I don’t like snooty tawts like you !
I won’t be chucking my current job in at all to hunt for class 1 work
Just to fill you in on some facts
I’m not some spotty 20 year old or even 30 year old ! I’m not young enough to even be your son
I’ve had my class 2 16 years

Oh and your an expert on me are you M8. Difference between us M8 is that I have intellect and am not danger to myself or others on the road. You are proving your level of competence by your silly comments and childish manner that you are simply not capable or mature enough to be joining the ranks of a class1 driver. Sorry to burst your bubble M8 but the truth must hurt.

U.K. Tramp , are you going to answer my question about the 2.5 to 3.5 t ave cable drum ? Or are you chicken like your ■■■■ buddy jingle jangle

I’ve decided I’m never going to strap any load ever again, it is obviously too unsafe to be doing any of it down the drivers side and I have a phobia of being mugged when hidden down the near side out of sight of anybody :unamused:

As I pointed out before, we strap both sides as we deliver via moffett sometimes on the kerb, this means if we were to strap only on the n/s then on occasion we would find ourselves unstrapping in a live lane, but then I’m just being a bit picky because we have roof slung double ratchets, but even before then we would load and strap according to schedule. Never ever had a problem.
We carry custom picked palletised loads up to 1.3t per pallet so Tramp, it’s horses for courses.

I’m only posting like this because of your total lack of respect for any one who differs in option to you
With that attitude to others is part of the reason for the decline in standards Alright Jackie
Don’t preach to me about being mature when you use text speak
I’M NOT YOUR MATE ! M8 is a bolt size no a word

How dare you post such stuff ! You’re only a mere rigid driver and not worthy of such thoughts

Well I’m sure it was that Lycra clad hero cyclist’s fault who nearly killed me whilst I was trying to undo the straps next to a cycle lane on the nearside, b’stard.
