Straight to the point, Asda, how much per hour?

No you’re spot on, that’s how it works

Cronus:

There’s no premium rate for weekends, & your shift premiums are- Nightshift 10.00-06.00am + £3.18 (on top of your £11.77 dayshift rate) & backshift is + £1.04. Overtime is £5.86 on top of your rate for the time of day plus the relevant shift allowance.

So if you start at say 3pm till 2am you get back shift rate til 10pm then nightshift rate from 10pm til 2am… or have I read it wrong?

Thats correct. If you were on 9 hour shifts, you would be on nightshift overtime rate from midnight til 2.00am too. All breaks are paid.

All adds up doesn’t it… Do you clock in and out or paid on the card ?

At our place (Avonmouth) we clock on and off but no going early, so basically I’m 03.00 to 12.00 so if I’m all done and dusted by 11.00 I have to wait till 12.00 to clock out, all part of a pay deal a few years ago apparently.

In the good old days, they used to let you sign ‘the book’ & away you went home. Not now, you’re there til the end (incase they need a unit moved across the yard or some such menial task!) unless you want to take some lieu time.

In Yorkshire, if you’re done and there’s nothing else for you to do you can clock off and use any lieu hours or overtime to cover it. Or you can chill and sit and get paid.
There’s no such thing as home no pay though.

They’ve implemented new rota’s nationwide recently, & we (Scottish depots) are now suffering from an excess of drivers. Not sure if that’s the scenario elsewhere, but not convinced more newbies would be needed now.

They’re about to start approx 50 newbies at Burtonwood (from the horse’s mouth) … just hope the job is as good as people say on here otherwise I would have given up waiting long ago.

only takeing full time drivers on
becouse ageny drivers want do oddball hrs at drop of hat

Spell-checker would be your friend next time you’re posting, as well as some use of your keyboards punctuation keys.

Would these ‘oddball hours at the drop of a hat’ be the rota that’s on the wall for the following week? You know, the one that gives your start times well in advance! I’m sure a man of your calibre will be flying high in his career now, lol. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Does anyone know which agency Asda Burtonwood will use?
