Fed up! Of waiting! I really wanna leave my current job, knowing that I will leave at some point makes every little irritation 10x worse lol.
I’ll wait until end sept before I apply for Iceland warrington £12.04hr, + o/t rate, 45hr guaranteed. It’s not my first choice but I can’t stay here anymore!
And they’re using agency, I’ve been there twice in last 6 days and seen them, the buggers

The Asda job is there for you …just when is the question. If you hate your current job so much play the agencies in the interim. Plenty of work at the moment even in… Asda!
Iceland Warrington is £12.04 for a reason. 3 and 4 am starts, weekend working and now XPO have taken over, I believe they are pushing for every other Sunday as part of the rota.
Ive just rung Burtonwood,to be told, they now have no idea when starts will be,still waiting on a meeting with the union to agree on rotas.
Seriously getting ■■■■■■ off with this now.Been waiting since first week in May.

A total shambles …who else waits this long to start a job. Learning a lot about this company…

When I got the job in Avonmouth last year they wanted me in so quick I ended up only giving 2 weeks notice instead of 4 which I should of done, no comfort for you though I’m afraid but stick with it it’ll be worth it .

It is the recommendations from guys like you BB that have kept us hanging on faithfully. In hindsight it would probably have been better for Asda to have got these rota problems sorted before the recruitment process started. They have been very poor at keeping us in the loop which has been the biggest bugbear.
I’m pretty new to the game, so please forgive the (daft question)
Working for a supermarket what could you expect your day to consist of?
Do they just do store deliverys of do they do Trunking to?
How many store deliveres could you expect in a day? And as a rule from your base depot how far might you expect to go for a store delivery?
A general insight into the job would be great. Thanks

I can only comment on Asda work, but an average day depends whether you’re on locals, or distance. Locals consist of 2 runs from the depot to store, & possibly a back-haul from a local supplier.
Distance (my preferred gig) see’s you doing one store & occasional back-hauls.
Asda don’t do trunking as such, here in Scotland, we take trailers to the ferry port at Cairnryan for the Irish lads to deliver (contractor)

Depends on the Supermarket and whether its chilled or ambient, as a general rule everything loaded for you 1 long run or 2 shorter runs with the occasional back haul or the collection of produce trays and/or empty cages no trunking I’m aware of.
Longest round trip for me 418 miles shortest 20 money for old rope the only thing missing are the redcoats and a knobbly knees contest, the only downside is working with the most idle whingeing dirty incompetent bunch of licence holders ever known to man.
I tell you what it wouldn’t surprise me if all the lads waiting for their call in get jobs elsewhere and Asda end up being short of bums on seats when they eventually get their fingers out. Wouldn’t blame any driver either.
