Straight to the point, Asda, how much per hour?

BB… Looking to relocate.
What’s the salary like and rotas
Looking at probably weekend’s on a 4 on 2 off 17:00 start or maybe a 20:00?

Salary obviously good and even better on nights but you won’t get that rota I’m afraid, I think it’s either any 4 out of 7 doing 11.15 hr shifts or 5 out of 7 doing 9 hr shifts but as far as I know they’re not looking unfortunately Nick. I’m off for a week but back in Wednesday so I’ll ask .

Why the change are you fed up of driving yellow lorrys ?

Their messing with the rota nothing in stone yet but if what happens goes ahead I reckon a few will walk.
I have an inside man at your old place so that’s another possibility.

Has anyone heard from Burtonwood ?

I’ve been thinking the same thing but Not since the request for references and a phone call in the same day about 2 week ago!

I rang them last week. The guy in transport apologised for the delays but letters are being sent out during June.

I hope they’re not as slow putting the dough in the bank!!

We’ll all be away on our summer holidays when the call comes through.

I’m getting abit pee’d off with all the waiting about now, I turned down an assessment with Aldi Bolton thinking I’d be workin at Asda by now!

Surely you lot must have some way of contacting them .

C’mon lads, I told you this would happen 2 or 3 pages ago! As for being slow putting the money in the bank…I’d better keep quiet about the fiasco we had last Nov/Dec.

Problems at the new depot in Sankey. Warrington (Dallam lane) arn’t moving in yet, not been given a new date. Wigan moved about from new depot, Dallam lane and Skem. Costing £60,000 per week. :unamused:

One of our other drivers was chatting to staff at dallam lane, and apparently the date to move has been put back to March 2017!!! Due to another automation break down at burtonwood

I was told first week July (this year) by Terry Graham in transport at Burton wood only yesterday. That’s the second time I’ve rung them now, not ringing again.

Well that’s better news. If the worst was that it gets delayed…a lot, surely they’d take us on at dallam lane because the old drivers would have accepted the pay out and wouldn’t be eligible to carry on for Asda?

I think decisions are being made at a much higher level than those in transport, but an email or letter keeping us advised would be nice.

Ive just rung Burtonwood and was told letters are going out,the first week in July

Interpret that as meaning ‘mid August’ They’ve implemented new rota’s nationwide recently, & we (Scottish depots) are now suffering from an excess of drivers. Not sure if that’s the scenario elsewhere, but not convinced more newbies would be needed now.

Having been retired for 12 years from driving .i had no idea that the jobs you are talking about were around, the massive wages ,the short hours,my god, you do not know you are born.moaning about shifts. they should change the classification from drivers to skivers.

Skivers…eh?? So when I get out of bed at 01.00hrs & go & do my 11.25+ hours shift, that’s me skiving is it? Maybe you weren’t lucky (or bright enough) to bag yourself a decent job when you were driving, but these jobs were there long before you retired.

I’v done the general haulage & multi-drop crap too, but you won’t find a chip on my shoulder fella!
