I had all the assessment, interview and drivers quiz.
They do seem ok at Didcot.
The rotas were either 4 x 11.25 or 5 x 9.
They didn’t go much into anything else only saying it’s every other weekend off.
Start times are a bit of a secret but it seems a better bet than where I am.
Even bank holidays are enhanced, unlike where I am now.
Congratulations, personally I’d go for the 11.25 to give you more days off, you’ll probably have later start times as I believe it’s an ambient only depot and chilled will take priority in the morning for the stores, and yes you get well rewarded for the bank holidays which is refreshing these days, you can’t go far wrong with Asda.
I had a couple of phone calls this morning.
One asking if either shift was ok and I said they were.
The other saying start times were midday to midnight. As I’m a early person I said nights would suit better.
I had another phone call offering me a start!
They seem to tick all the boxes for me.
Rotas still up in the air but seems every other weekend off.
Not bad at all.

Nice one, with regards to start times i start the same time every day but not sure how they work it at Didcot.
Good stuff, pleased for you.

Are you mornings or afternoons?
You did very well if you’ve got every other weekend off. That never happens to new starts at Falkirk CDC/ADC. Don’t be surprised if it changes, Asda are good at that!

Mornings 03.00.
That’s a good time.
Afternoons are ok but not sure finishing 10 or 11 am would suit.

Just rung them. They still don’t know, but they"ve got a meeting this week and might sort it then.
Things must be moving at Warrington, just filled in and sent off my employer references form. Had to specify a date after which Asda could contact them so will be a bit embarrassing if my current employer receives the call whilst I’m still working there - a bit of a catch 22 situation when no start date has been specified so gave a date later this month. This should be interesting.

One thing puzzles me regarding ASDA jobs at Grangemouth and elsewhere come to that , if its such a good job why are they constantly advertising for drivers ?.
Where are you seeing these constant advertisements?
Transline are pushing for drivers just now but the rate is laughable. It appears that they have dropped it by £1 per hour since this time last year. I thought there was a little confusion regarding PAYE and S/E rates but apparently not. S/E on containers pays more which doesn’t sound right at all

Asda never contacted my referees when I started (Or any of the other 3 guys that started same day as me) so don’t be too surprised if your employer never hears from them.

Asda Avonmouth didn’t even contact the two references I put down so don’t fret too much about it, mind you I do have an honest face

Not in the post, check your email. There will be a link to an online form.
I got that e-mail yesterday morning asking for 2 references.Hopefully won’t be too long now.
Anyone heard anything else?
Not as yet but that email did say that more emails were to follow, looks like everything is done electronically.

Be patient folks. I was told they’d be in touch within a couple of weeks with a start date. A ‘couple’ of weeks became 7 weeks!
BB… Looking to relocate.
What’s the salary like and rotas
Looking at probably weekend’s on a 4 on 2 off 17:00 start or maybe a 20:00?
