Might be interesting for me. Leaving York at 4am to do four drops around Colchester before reloading in Felixstowe.
Hmmm…
Fun times ahead

Been told by family down south that it is windy down that way
I seem to remember last year and the year before us over here being ribbed and poked fun at after being hit by hurricanes both years, now maybe you will get a small idea how bad they can be ?
This weather has been so well reported on etc that if this storm isn’t as bad as forecasted (which I hope it isn’t), next time the weather is really bad, nobody will have believed the forecasts, and people won’t be so prepared.
I think the met office is so risk averse now after the Fish fiasco. I can only hope they haven’t over egged this for this reason.
I’m off up to Cannock (loaded) again tonight and back down (empty) early morning so hopefully back home before it kicks off…failing that, speed will be lower than the norm, on the elevated bits I’ll be sat in lane 2 so I’ve got a bit of leeway before the big drop!! I’ll tighten the curtains up when I get in the yard shortly

Knowing my luck I’ll have to take a decker over the Severn Bridge then…
I WILL Hope it’s calmed down by Monday night.
Fifth of fourth road bridge was fun closed to double deck bus but not double deck trailers lol my 40’ container was heavy thank god
M50 is shut Northbound in the evenings so it’ll have to be the bridge or A40 from Ross to Gloucester (not pleasant in a double-decker).
As I was reading page 1 and laughing about all you butch trucker’s mothers ringing you about the weather, didn’t my own Mam ring me about the same thing
I remember coming over Thelwall in the 87 “Michael Fish storm” with a single axle 40foot boxvan trailer…sideways , an excellent laxative that was.

Im on tomorrow nights Portsmouth to caen ferry… been and bought my sickness tablets.Just been on sky news that some ferries leaving south coast ports on Sunday and Monday have been cancelled already, might wanna check before you leave
I was due to be on the Plymouth to roscoff but that was cancelled. … it didn’t surprise me anyway as last week it only had 20 cars and 6 lorries on.
Im in Portsmouth now and its a bit breezy and raining but all ferries are on time.
Severn Bridge already closed.
Ay, bless yer mums

Not sticking up for the bloke but …
BBC weather forecaster Michael Fish was left famously red-faced when, on the eve of the Great Storm of 1987, he assured the British public there would be no “hurricane”.
Though he failed to predict a ferocious storm was about to turn north and hit the UK, he was correct on the hurricane point.
Britain cannot experience hurricanes - the word is used for tropical cyclones when they form in the Atlantic and north-east Pacific.
These are low pressure systems which develop over tropical or sub-tropical waters - not the cold waters around Britain - which become “cyclones” once wind speeds reach 74mph (119km/h).
If a hurricane did head for Britain it would be reclassified as an “extra tropical storm” before arriving.
Such storms can be powerful - but even if the winds exceeded 74mph it would not be called a hurricane.
In any case the storm currently expected to hit the UK is no such thing. Far from forming over warm waters, it is expected to form close to the coast before hitting the South West and heading across the country.
