Stobart drivers wanted. £38k

muckles:
I pretty much understand what Harry is going on about, and in over 10 year of working on motorsport I’ve done some pretty menial jobs, but they have to be done and it depends who’s available, sometimes it might be me other times it could be the team boss.

but how bad the job is mostly down to who you work with, I’d rather peel spuds or wash up having a laugh with some interesting and fun people than sit in a RDC listening to yet another loud mouth hero driver telling everybody how crap it all is or trying get a civil response from some goods in staff.

Yes, I’ve found on promotional work that you tend to work with very pretty and accommodating girls, and that always makes for an agreeable working environment, no matter how menial the task. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d never work for stobarts. I’d rather work for some of the other companies around here that pay 500 for 6 days.

Not working for Stobart is it though.
Thought they’d flogged al the haulage except Bio mass to a company in the Isle of Man.
Your working under the name but not the company.
I assume that the F1 side had been sold as well IIRC all Tinkler kept was Airports, buildings, Rail and Biomass.

I think your a little confused. Stobart is stobart but not stobart group if that makes sense… 49% of the transport is owned by stobart group and 51% is owned by William Stobart back by a company on the isle of man

I’ve just got to ask this, are you the soldier Z who was stood next to me on the balcony during the Iranian embassy siege? I was soldier Y.

Does anyone know if it’s true, that as a Stobart driver you get a 50p bonus for every spotter you see at the roadside, – sad sacked anoraks that they are? … :grimacing:

bald bloke:
Well I’m a day driver and I’m on more than what their day driver is on .

Same here - our Class 2 day drivers (46 hour week, no fudging with POA, allowances, bonuses etc to inflate the headline figure) are on more than that.

either way, i wouldn’t apply.

had my class 1 over 2 years, no bad reports, no accidents or bumps, always been on time, always done more and “above and beyond”, even did stobarts agency for 6 months ad hoc, applied no less than 6 times on the past 2 years, turned down every time! however still get offered agency work for them at a higher rate than their own drivers… stobarts… filing for bankruptcy soon if they carry on!

…Perhaps it’s all about dependency: Some firms don’t want people that are already “professionals” because they can leave later if and when they don’t like the job… Think of all that money wasted on uniforms and paperwork should a fleeting driver grace their number as a full-timer? :stuck_out_tongue:

(Actually I gained it after Gibralter the SAS lads in the aftermath were identified as Soldier a,b,c ext I always drove the kit wagon when we went away so was always last away hence Z)

It’s very confusing however according to people I’ve spoken to at Stobart and other reports it’s effectively two different companies.
Eddie Stobart Logistics headed by William Stobart can use the name “Stobart” for 4 years after that it’ll cost them £3 milion per year to use.
Stobart Group has retained 8% of the vehicles for Biomass.
Stobart Group has retained the Eddie Stobart Brand plus bulidings, land, airports etc.they will also recieve £44 million in shares of the new company( this supposedly all adds up to the 49% Tinkler and his mates have held onto)
One contract manager I spoke to last week has gone to Biomass as he wants to stay at Stobart Group.
William and his backers will be the major stakeholders but they will only have a say in General Haulage hence his resignation from the board of Stobart Group and the selling of his shares in Stobart Group to Stobart Group and his gaining of shares in Eddie Stobart Logistics.(6%)
As I understand it come April if your working for Stobart in General Haulage you’ll be working for William as part of Eddie Stobart Logistics.
The money will come from and goto DouglasBay Capital and William.
If your in Biomass you’ll be part of the Stobart Group.
Very confusing

Apparently I no longer work for esl. I will be working for a company called Stobart biomass transport limited.

The Board of Stobart Group Limited announces a partial realisation of its Transport and Distribution Division. Going forward the Group will focus on exploiting the potential of its Infrastructure and Support Services Divisions. The Transaction will position the Group to repay substantially all of its debt, accelerate the growth of the Continuing Group and buy back a proportion of its shares.

William Stobart will leave the Group Board and lead Eddie Stobart Logistics as CEO, driving growth in the business as a private company

Stobart Group proposes to retain, from the Transport and Distribution Division

· the Eddie Stobart Brand through a licence agreement

· the biomass transport operations (8% of the vehicle fleet) to integrate into its Stobart Biomass fuel supply business

· the majority of the freehold properties used by the Transport and Distribution Division

I’m not being funny mate, but no trampers or person who does nights out gets paid from the moment they start work on a Monday to the moment they go home on a Friday/Saturday. Anyone who expects to be paid for having a 9/11 off is deluded! Why should a firm pay you to sleep/shower/cook/eat, they wouldn’t pay you to do it at home?!

As for being expected to “stay with the truck” you want to look for a different job then mate, there is no legal requirement for a driver to stay with the truck/load while on a daily/weekly rest period. You are driver not a convict!
[/quote]
If I had to night out or stay with the trailer, I would get paid all the hours worked.

Stobart get some extra job.after about 1 years they back to Bevcan(Leicester).make delivery empty can to Coca cola.last years they lost contract or…Bibby was do.but from last week Green truck again.

Are trampers always parked up for the weekend with no load on then? - or at least no valuable, nickable load?

I’d have concerns about leaving my truck in some layby to be plundered by pi keys across the weekend y’see…
Y’can tell I’ve never “weekended out” before huh?

£38K,pah,thats peanuts!Get yourselves to the North West, liverpool area, you can make double that apparently
