In the national newspapers stobbies have advertised jobs for their new steel contract with the international work going to be run out of Sittingbourne. Now anyone who has got problems with stobarts would in my opinion still have to think long and hard before dismissing that kind of wage for what seems to be very easy work.
Even the other wages are decent IMO , with CPC uniform etc new trucks every couple of years…
,
The £38k figure quoted if you read the small print, is based on being away internationally on 12 day runs and including allowances. Fine if you have absolutely zero home life…

Sounds perfect for me if they let me take my dog!
Well I’m a day driver and I’m on more than what their day driver is on .

Is that in today’s paper??
I allways get knocked back when applying, latest time was last week so they must be after young blood they can mould to there way of thinking.
I’m 35 clean licence and 14 years experience of general haulage but apparently I’m not of “high enough calibre” for the stobart group…
Just maybe its because you are too experienced and they think will not be able to dictate to you more like

Maybe so,but when you get told in the letter that your not “high enough calibre” these are the exact words used ,and then you see some of the clowns driving for them it makes me a little angry

You mean “stuck in your ways” ? Could be true though, maybe they think a younger inexperienced driver is easier to train to the “Stobart Way”.
Be VERY careful and Heed this WARNING! once you’re there earning your planner will start parking you UP! to let agency drive on by! they’ve sacked TOO many now No one WANTS to work for them FANNY WITH TEETH = VICIOUS CIRCLE!
sod living to work,i prefer working to live.ya cant take it with ya,there’s no rich men in the cemetary.
I thought euro work was standard 12 days working then a weekend off, and if that salary is correct a lot more then a lot of current euro drivers get for working the same pattern.

So the planner will park you up,losing him earnings?
They will give the agency driver, who costs them more an hour to run, more hours?
Yes.Ok.
I do know that hauliers in Sittingbourne are ■■■■■■■■ themselves in anticipation of drivers leaving left, right and centre to go to work for Stobart.

Sounds unreal iankav! But has happened very often when I was on for them! Planners are the problem at Stobart IMHO!!! Take home is realistic as long as you don’t go on holiday too often!

That’s shocking and unprofessional, it’s one thing to say “you haven’t been successful in your application” and leave it at that, but to openly say that you’re not good enough for them that’s wrong.
