vale transport,were a firm i remember very well.when my parents ran our family business at stormy down in the early 70’s vale were based there.vale later moved to village farm industrial estate in pyle.in what is now cbl plant hire’s yard.next door to vale at pyle was argosy transport,the owners of these two transport companies were brothers,their other brother is still in haulage to this day,john raymond.this seddon photo is very large,i have scanned it as best i can .thanks to my good friend mike raymond,for the pictures.vale was owned by mike’s father dai raymond.

we have friends coming down tomorrow from northants,staying with us till wed.however,this bank holiday monday we three will be heading for coleford festival of transport in my texan atki ,me.our son harry and trucknet member steelboy f10,whilst the long suffering mrs pete359 and mrs steelboyf10 go shopping in cardiff . happy easter to you and yours dennis.

How many commercial vehicles get too the Coleford festival,its not that far from here,did have a look on their website,but it gives the type of vehicles,but no detail.

it’s been a good event the last couple of years .a dozen or more commercials i would say.it’s a brilliant format that the organiser’s use,the town centre is closed to traffic and the streets are lined with prbably?a couple of hundred different vehicles/motor bikes,also plenty of stalls.the shop owners love it.

Thanks Andrew,there is als a festival of transport at Weston Park near Newport Shropshire which isn’t that far either,will give them both some thought,perhaps end up at one of them.

taken up in llanwern and all parked up the old faber prest fleet now harsco
used to go into llanwern for sammy jones for export,last time i went in about 2001,looked on google earth not long back
its astonishing and sad to see the place a shadow of what it once was,cant imagine what it looks like on ground level,ghostly. !!!.a small town on its own
Hi all. I’ve just spent hours and hours going through all these fab pics. Brought back loads of memories.
I was also shocked and pleased to see some pics of ME hanging of a J & M Volvo. Andy took the pics when we were about 13yrs old. (Yes Andy, it’s me…Richard from Nottage)
Anyway… I’m gonna upload some pics now. I’m looking forward to your comments.
