Talking about strikes .My dad worked for a one man band called Bradley they were from Pentre just out side Shrewsbury Shropshire.He had just bought a Bedford Tm it was one of the first too have a ■■■■■■■ E290. It was a flyer ! Getting too the point my dad drove it though a strike line at Liverpool. When he went too work the next morning in Shrewsbury he had scab wrote all over it in we think brake fluid. The lorry had too have a complete respray.My dad was not against the strikes but like a lot of people he was dragged into some thing that was out of his control.
I remember Trever G Phillips lorries from Cadoxton,coming up through from Brecon to Leominster,they had one AEC with a very distinctive sound,you could tell that lorry,by the sound from a long way off. I was working at Whitney Toll Bridge,by the side of the A438,for a builder when I was 18,and remember seeing all the South Wales lorries going by.

those davies photo’s bought back alot of memories for me. i can remember 1 driver on there he had a crusader with the name “jason” above the nearside headlights. driver was a great bloke i cant remember his name now but he used to deliver alot in mansfield and we became good friends always out for a pint etc. then never saw him or the crusdarer again after a good 7 months or so of 2 times a week. anybody remember this chap/crusader ?. would love to see a photo or get in touch with that driver. over to you pete 359 you seem to come up with the goods
