Hi Smallcoal,
It may well be Lyn Howells? Dai’s brother. They were based at coychurch across from where nathaniel car Sales are now. There are photos of Lyn Howells’ lorries on here a few hundred pages back…
Regards Andrew.

Great photo of Lyn Howells, Volvo F10. This truck was bought by Mike Toms, in the summer of 1983, a third axle was added to this truck, so that the new 38 tonnes limit could be used with his tandem axle trailers, it finished it’s days in the early 90’s with haulier Ioan Rees. I remember Lyn Howells, had a new registration F10 in the same colours as this one.

Sorry, for the above post it should be a new A registration F10.

Hi MJT1,
Thanks for that. I thought Lyn Howells had another F10,after the V Reg. I remember mike tomms in the abbey, back in the late 70’s early 80’s.he had a red F88 back then,he used to park on the llantwit fadre to tonteg road.theres a junction there now as it’s all been developed.
Regards Andrew.

Hi Andrew, that’s right he used to keep his trailers on a piece of land that was in front of what was the old Nippa Laboratories and what is now the entrance to a housing estate in Llantwit Fardre. Regards, Mike.

Hi Ianto, the John Neate you speak of from Pencoed I would presume would be Jackie, he did indeed work for BRS Bridgend on the Rockwool contract, he’s my mothers cousin and the only time we seem to meet up is in funerals, he’s doing ok but obviously like us all age is catching us up and it doesn’t come on it’s own.
