I remember Jeff Perrett but he probably would not remember me as a very young cab rat, also the JPM transcon parked up at porthcawl with a name plate on the front of Elsie Tanner aka Pat phoenix and later on the rigid Daf sleeper.
Percy Vinegar lived in Penygraig and i don,t know whether there was a porth depot Ian ?
I am going to try and track Billy Ginger down shortly and have a few questions for him.
Something tells me in humble beginnings Bridgend had a few motors based at the old cattle market, again i may be totally wrong.
Be honest the photos this morning shook me back a bit and this site gets better and better.thanks for sharing them.

Pretty sure the light blue seddon,s were ex wall,s contract motors Gloucester.
I remember Kevin White smallcoal ex NCB Tondu ,ending up on the truck rental arm .
The Roberts you were thinking of Ian was John[God]Roberts and the outbase Burton drivers were Ray King and Barry?[Evans].
The 2 D series rigids on rockwool looked massive and not ideal for multidrop.
Eastern Brs had a huge yard just off the derby road Burton but the Burton changeover was at a nightclub sort of bingo hall.
Missing cars by inches, and a right headache to swap trailers in the dark around midnight.
