South Wales Hauliers sixties and seventies onwards (Part 1)

Hi, Folks , We had a few owner operators working out of the Halkyn Quarries , one had a six wheeler Perkins 6.354 with Albion d/d rear axles ,plenty of grip but under powered ,another had an A,E C , 470 with a 6 speed box and eaton two speed d/d axles Was ok when it went ,Headgaskets, by the score ,cheers Barry

1990 I think, doing a job for Cardiff Transport in Switzerland.

Hello Dai , Now they were a regular site delivering to the well heeled in the Vale of Glamorgan !.. especially Cowbridge in particular … Now it is more likely to be John Lewis but with not such interesting vehicles …Geraint .

Great shot of the Wynns Atki Dai I wonder if it is in preservation ? Now this motor would be a far better project for Mr. Cooper,a proper motor !!Cheers Dennis.

How are you mate? I agree,the Atki is an iconic motor.that particular vehicle is a lot nearer to you than us in Wales.these days she is a part of the classic cadzow heavy haulage fleet based in East Kilbride?

Hi Andrew ,the ERF is still on the road in miles colours I think it’s an owner driver , who drove for miles once ,and yes I did take your sister in law Xmas shopping :smiley:
