Happy days. Broke up for christmas. Lovely.
A E Gough & Sons from Llandrindod Wells,Radnorshire have been trading 85 years.
According to COMPANY HOUSE Hill’s Transport still filing account’s and have £50,500
it’s not Hill’s they started in 1946 !!!
I would have said Mansell Davies or A.E Gough
see these on regular bases on M4 around bridgend area
just been told Hill’s started before 1946 they were in Dinas Powys before 1946 and Penarth Rd after then i think
They would have to be old to beat this.Found on the net.
Hermon had six shops including a Post Office and garage, the village was linked to the lead and silver mines of Glogue. Ancestors to the Mansel Davies Company were blacksmiths to the lead mines, who then expanded to agricultural machinery and then the family business that we recognise it today.
cheers Dave.

hi graham,
full marks mate .h.lewis was the west wales company i was thinking off.i knew you would come up with the goods ,nobody has guessed the mid-glamorgan firm i mentioned though
Harry Morgan of Cwm.Possibly not ?.
They have finished ,but would it have been Ellis Morgan at Pengham ? regards kk
Hi all,
Both good suggestions, though not the Bridgend area firm I am thinking of . I dare say, other regions of Wales have some long established truck owners still trading? Maybe member price, bwaddy could come up with a mid/ north Wales company that are still trading after 100 years?though tbh I can’t think of any from there.I think? That a member of the wynn family is still involved with transport, though as far as I am aware, not road transport.
Regards Andrew.
So, we are looking for a Bridgend area haulier thats been going for 100 years.
Well, we know from this thread that John Raymond has been around only about half that time, TD Wiliams are in Bridgend these days but I think also have only been hauliers for around 50 yearsMaybe we need to be thinking the other end of the scale regarding fleet size?
Neil…
