Bubbs, you must have a great filing system or memory to find the photo’s and clippings as you do!
Neil, how would that 4 wheel MAN have a Merthyr reg with HB in it? Second hand motor, or is it the main Post Office where it was taxed that dictates the reg number? Was it Walls in Newport that were the MAN dealer after Steyr?
Regards Paul

hi all,
steelboy f10 will like this gulliver’s cardiff, merc.2028.
Nice one Andrew. That 2028 had been sold by the time I worked for Gullivers 1990/91. The GTH 1 plate was put on a 2035, and later a 2435 powerliner 2 originally G reg. It was in the transport fleet of 12, and later put back into the rental fleet.
I regret not taking any photo’s myself, even worse not having my brother in law take some as he was a professional photographer, the transport fleets livery was superb. The blue and red vinyl on white really stood out, on tractors and trailers.
Hopefully next visit home, I will have a chance to go round and borrow some photo’s to share.
Regards Paul
hi all,
here’s de rooy delivering new man’s for john raymond .
Gentlemen, good evening, a sad and sorry Saviem tonight, my friend of thirteen years, 17hands of Thoroughbred Irish Draft cross, was “spooked” by a gust of wind on Sunday, and now Ive a collection of cracked ribs!! boy it d
ont alf hurt!! So, can anyone help me with the answers to the following, what was the name of the superb Italian Restaraunt in Penarth thats cusine and wine caused me to buy so many well worn South Wales lorries. The main dining room was on the first storey, with spectacular views of the sea. What was the name of the stone, that came from South America as ballast for the colliers, that so much of Penarth is built from? Was it Alf Fitzpatrick who ran Welsh International, on Penarth Road Cardiff, and have they long gone now? Who, or what pulls the Welsh National Opera Trailers now? Back in the 70s, when I was working in Italy, "Il bisonte de la Strada" had a piece that WNO were using , Ithink TR305 Berliets. I just wondered what they were using now? Do they still park in the middle of Cardiff? I expect not. And finally, I
ve gone and bought a T cab V8 Scania on a whim, (as I a`int feeling too good), a bit of a fallen lady, but oh what potential! so this evening I have forsaken the pain killers for a little light Bollinger! Bon chance mes amis.

Simon, here’s a good opportunity for you to keep your hands on the spanners, help Saviem out with this T cab. But without those plastic gloves lol.
Jokes aside how is the new career as a fireman going.
Regards Paul

Hi paul,
The fire service is briliant & I’m really enjoying it mate, I’ve been in just over a year now & its flying by!! I’ve got my NVQ in tea drinking as well
Do you know what I think I only ever worked on one Bullnose in the 5 years I did at Silurian(Horrible things to work on engine wise but quite a good looking vehicle) & we didn’t have luxuries like PLASTIC gloves at Silurian.
Regards Simon.

hi bazztrucker,
likewise,i was in and out of there all the time with joint.though that was then and this is now and from what i am told, the future is very bleak for llanwern.i think?they mothballed the hot mill back in 2009.later reinstating it.i don’t think that will happen this time though.
regards andrew.
