The AECs were still running Velindre to Trostre with pickle coil in 1988/89 when I started with Walters driving Daf rigid(can’t remember if it was 6or8wheeler)Proper lorries have a starter button and foot operated dip-switch and no heater!!!

hi all,
an old business card from a big operator in their day.williams bros. cross hands.courtesy of ec14
That’s an impressive business card, look at the detail. It shows Austin/Morris vehicles different models and I believe there is a Leyland Comet in there also. Perhaps someone knows the models, eg Well I tried to put F as in F and K as in K but the sensor picked it up…

Williams bros crosshands were based about 5 miles from here and i remember them very well.
i used to work as a mechanic at the ford dealership in the same village and we did lots together as local company’s to help out.
their site was a large site based where the Aldi store is in Crosshands now and 1/2 way into the large roundabout nearby.
Moelwyn and Andrew Williams ran a smart fleet of green E.R.F’s and Atki’s and it was an impressive site in the evnings when they were all parked up two rows facing the road, i would guess that they had around 50 + 8 wheelers there.
they would have ceased operating somewhere late 80’s.
If anyone has any photo’s it would be wonderful to see them here.
There was a multi tipper test in Truck magazine when one of the trucks tested was a Williams of Cross Hands T45 leyland 8 wheeler with a bulk tipper body
