Andrew, excellent photos. This seems to be a good show to attend. I have always preferred full mudguards on American trucks, this VN looks the part especially with super singles on the steer axle.
No doubt your truck drew a lot of attention, certainly stood out with all the lights on.

Nice photo’s from Neil and Dai, thanks boys.

regards Paul

this is a picture of smiths enterprises scania in 1970 when she was new

Hi John, you may remember Smiths putting 2 new CAT loading shovels into Newport docks early 80s. I can not remember the model but they could load 20 tonne in one go. Cracking machines they were.
A blending shed had been set up and the dockers were running it, they had been trained on the CATs and let loose. Danny Eagan of Pontypridd had put a bunch of old 8 wheelers on the job. By the end of the first day half had been put out of service, the body’s all torn up by the great British dockworker.
If they had reality shows back then, these guys would be stars. I dont think anyone could act so useless, lol.

Hi paul this is a picture of caterpillar 992 at newport docks see transporter bridge in the background i was a fitter looking after these machine they had 20yd buckets on coal they took the dockers off the machine only to be paid to sit in canteen while our boys operated machines
