South Wales Hauliers sixties and seventies onwards (Part 1)

hi all,
another photo, from the hundreds that i took at the lar.this merc was a bit “frantic” for me  though alot of effort had been put in to the artwork.this wasn’t a vinyl wrap,it’s all hand sprayed.

Theres pictures of three of our South Wales contingent on the Steelboys run featured in the latest Heritage commercials magazine. [pete359, EC14, and Gareth’s Transcon]

There was also an advert for Hereford truck show on Sunday August 21st if anyone fancies going.

me waiting in the que to tip a load of abbey coil at vw’s storage facility in gent.once tipped, keith and i then went empty over to p.b. gellatines at villvoorde to load diced animal bones (seriousley  ) for treeforest.where i would tip my trailer and keith’s as his tractor didn’t have tipping gear.

pretty much 20 years to the day between the first and second photo here :sunglasses:

on the monday after the lar,we saw quite alot of ghent  ,sorry lads.after breakfast we went to the volvo truck factory.thanks to the hard work and arrangements made by our good friend john comer from volvo at warwick,we all enjoyed a full factory tour with lunch :sunglasses: .we all had a great time, the cherry on the cake was when my son and young josh herbert were allowed not only on the tour, but in the cab of a brand new fh,that we watched being assembled earlier that morning.
the two boys were in the truck with volvo’s test driver, the truck is parked in a sealed lab.plugged into a sophisticated computer system and during a 14 minute test every :exclamation: parameter and function of the fh was checked, fine tuned and set :sunglasses: .words cannot express enough thanks to jobhina, john comer and all the volvo team for arranging this one off experience for josh herbert and harry cooper.all us oldies just looked through the glass at two young boys with the biggest smiles, while the fh accelerated, braked, moved sideways etc etc.
obviousley photo’s were not permitted.though we were allowed to take these few and again through john comer i have permission to use them on trucknet, thanks john :sunglasses: .
