HGV drivers (lots, lol) are required by MJD in Swanscombe
and it’s not an agency
Is this the first sign of a driver shortage, we’ve been reading lately about?
“Flexi hours to suit”. Sounds good.
I want some HVG training.
Maybe all their Polish drivers have gone home or the insurance for them has got too much!

Exactly that. MJD are the most firm in Kent. They only just survived their last invitation for tea and biscuits with the Traffic Commissioner. God alone knows what they will do if the Poles have decided to go home.

:):):):)
Drivers are 2 a penny at our place & many others, always have been & always will be…THERE WILL NEVER BE A DRIVER SHORTAGE…!!!
Can’t get enough drivers around here, I know I could walk out today and get another job tomorrow. Mind you the money ain’t great around here 100-130 a day for max hrs
Last week’s local paper has adverts from: Lenham, Swain and Castledene, all wanting drivers. I would rate them in that order.
Last May I went to their yard looking for a job, they had none going, now they need lots drivers?
Something major must have happened there, either won a new major contract or lots of drivers have left.
Least you get a new truck with Castledene. Some of swains are ten years old.

If you mean R Swains, some are older than that.

there may never be a shortage of drivers but there will always be a shortage of good drivers in my opinion. only this morning I witnessed some of the lowest standards of driving from a CO OP driver coming down the A1 , about twenty minutes of clueless driving - thankfully I needed to get on the M62

Ascending, or descending?

Now I’m really curious as to what originally said!
Funny how they are asking for you to upload a CV (sales phishing for course sales?) and yet the only thing actually mentioned as being available is “HGV training” rather than an actual defined job…?
My cynical bells are ringing here…
“Technical sales” ain’t a driving job either - unless you count a rep as a pro driver for being on the road over 15 hours a day!
I would apply for a job with mid but only if I only had to work there on a day without a y in it and I only had to turn up when England win the World Cup
The bit they all miss off the adverts “only required until 24th December”

That is still 4 months work
Should an advert not state is an employment agency?

MJD do a lot for coca cola so will be gearing up for a busy period. As harry said they had a big problem with vosa and they have seemed to update the fleet for new renaults and ivecos over the last year or so.
They Have in recent years had a poor reputation as an employer in our area but was always a good shot for a newbie. Money wasnt great but not terrible so if your a new pass or out of work may be worth a go.
