Complain to the Duty Manager,have no joy, write to the CEO at the Companies HQ,failing that contact Watchdog or Rip off Britain.Go back to the “good old days” when you washed in the sink all week and had a good soak in the bath when you got home on Friday night or Saturday morning because “digs” and truck stops didn`t have the luxury of showers. hheeee
I think when my current job ends and I’m not put in up in hotels I’ll be doing just that.

How long before they improved? How long before they realised? How long before they tried to tempt drivers in? They don’t care because drivers put up with it, and they know that they will continue to!
It won’t happen of course. But it illustrates the potential power of drivers.

Well thats bollox.of course they want trucks parking one it makes them money on a bit of land they already own at most put some marked bays in, two there more likely to get fuel sales as the trucks leave and three they sell you dear take away crap.so to say they dont want a revenue sourse is just dumb.

I’ve been thinking of doing a name and shame thing on my website for a while, maybe this is the start I need. A lot of these places start listening when you tell them how many hits you get or see how many twitter followers you have. So, to the original poster and anyone else with pictures send them to me, with details of when and when taken and who operates site and I’ll start something rolling. I often go without showers because of the filth, as I come out feeling much dirtier than when I went in. To have real impact we would need pics ship get snapping! As for the chap trying to make out our employers are to blame, they do their thing, they pay for the parking, how many actually know how bad things are in these dumps. We pay these cowboys to park and then they provide scummy places like the one above. Is their responsibility, they take our money they need to provide decent places to wash
Great idea Luke. I hope you get the feedback you need though a list of decent places may be a lot easier to compile as it would be pretty short I reckon. We have to do our bit by not leaving our mess behind too.
Maybe you could get one of the mods here to do a sticky post asking for peoples pictures?
Luke - you should do a video about it using footage of poor conditions. I imagine a YouTube video with thousands of views might make them think. Bit like a Watchdog type report…
Luke’s idea is good but using lorrys to block services is a non starter as who owns the lorry 
I cant think of to many employers being happy to have their wagon on an unofficial blockade, off route because we dont like the MSA showers

Well in the interests of competition maybe there should be a list of the cheapest hauliers, insurance companies etc either that or shop around and plan ahead ?
As someone else stated earlier do these “free” cash machines manufacture, install, maintain and refill themselves for free ?

No they don`t. There paid for by the ads they show on the screen but most are to thick to notice.
All extra services have free ATM in the shell petrol station. NO free ones at MOTO(that Ive seen). Watford gap natwest in BP station north and south.
They should not be allowed to charge £2.00 a pop to draw your money out of the bank, the fact that some think this is ok, is another example of what is wrong in this country
And no one is forcing these low life companies to buy and install these ATM’s are they, they are making a profit,as are the Motorway services from those guilible enough to use their ATM’s to withdraw cash
But it would be nice to have a list of the Free ATM’s provided by the bank’s ,So that we could plan ahead better
Could you go one further Luke, and have an overall ratings table on your site? Perhaps list the ones which have free showers as well, as well as the standards of each?
I don’t mind paying for a shower if it’s clean and doesn’t smell of mould, but if it’s free I can tolerate a slightly lower standard (as long as it’s not a health hazard!)

Thats probably a very bad analogy to use. As someone (probably same as yourself) who used to get wages in cash in a brown envelope, we where all sold the idea of banking, or had it more or less forced on us. But the whole thing was advertised and touted as cash machines available everywhere to access your cash, at differet banks not just your own etc…Until one smart arse thought, i know, we can get £1.50 for every transaction…

once again I ask truck and driver to highlight the shocking/poor state of the showers in the uk motorway services and truck stops.for example the showers on the north bound southwaite never seem to be working moto the ones on the south side at Lancaster 1 hasn’t been working for months, and the other has sign on it and says if water is to hot use the north side dated last month.gretna has had only 1 shower working for weeks as well. cant you get intouch with these places owners and ask them why it takes so long to fix them most mwsa charge on average at least £20 a night to park and any I stay in always seem to be full at least 4 nights a week, so make enough from us to pay for the up keep,yes I know drivers use and also abuse them but it cant be that hard to find local plumbers to keep on top of the repairs and up keep of them, again we get charged more than enough to park in the places with no real security ask the people who own and the people who manage these places if they would be happy to walk in and shower in these places, and would they be happy to pay or not come on truck and driver get in and about these places and name and shame them plz

Them showers don’t look cleaned to me, in any shape or form.
Cash machines are a service they have every right to charge for as far as I’m concerned. We have no right to withdraw our money for free. Banks stick them on the wall outside branches and let you use them for free because it saves people going into the bank and requiring a salaried cashier - like a self service checkout in Tesco.
